Zardy from Zardys Maze

Zardy from Zardy’s Maze

Zardy might be hard to avoid in his maze, but out there on Halloween night, nobody is going to want to run from this cosplay. Or if they do, at least they’ll be running for the right reasons.

Zardy is a little inhuman, but copying his look is possible. A black witch’s hat and a pumpkin mask start things off on the right track, though you can opt for face paint if the mask will be too warm. A shoulder cowl, a pair of scissors – to cut off the hood and create the V at the bottom – , some fabric glue, and orange fabric paint creates the iconic top detailing. It’s a bit of a DIY project but it layers easily over a versatile black long-sleeve pullover sweatshirt. Finish off with a pair of jeans, some shoe covers in the style of brown boots, and a farming hoe. If you don’t want to carry an actual farming tool around, you can use a costume scythe instead.

dana from mythic quest

Dana from Mythic Quest

Dana (played by Imani Hakim) is one of the game testers for the Mythic Quest video game in the Apple TV+ series of the same name.  Dana’s fellow game tester Rachel has a crush on her and the two eventually end up dating.  Dana’s job consists of a lot of time on a couch,  playing video games, and so she dresses for comfort.  Her hair is worn in long braids and a pair of colorful, oversized headphones will complete the look.

rachel from mythic quest

Rachel from Mythic Quest

Rachel (played by Ashley Burch) is a neurotic, over-analyzing video game tester in the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest.  Rachel has a crush on fellow tester Dana, though she hesitates to make a move in their relationship.  At one point, in order to save Dana’s job, Rachel works with Brad Bakshi.  Rachel has a colorful, asymmetric haircut and often sports flannel shirts layered over a graphic tee while she works testing the latest game improvements.

Penny from Bolt

Penny from Bolt

Penny (Miley Cyrus) might have only played Bolt’s partner on TV but the love between the two is very real. And though Penny faces danger Bolt doesn’t expect, their bond saves them both in the end.

Penny has a few looks in the movie but one of her most notable is the layered look featuring black and white striped tights. They pair well with black shorts and shoes, a black long sleeve shirt, and a red t-shirt. These are all pieces that can transition into other cosplays as well as play a role in your day to day closet, making Penny a great closet cosplay. The one piece that is specific to the cosplay is the auburn wig. It matches a few other costumes, however, and if you’d prefer to style your own hair, you can leave it off altogether.

cw longbottom from mythic quest

C.W. Longbottom from Mythic Quest

C.W. Longbottom (played by F. Murray Abraham) is a Nebula Award-winning writer thrust into the world of game development in the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest.  C.W. is a master of his craft and sets out to imbue each game release with a a richly detailed backstory, sometimes to the detriment of the production process, much to the chagrin of both Poppy Li and Ian Grimm.  C.W.’s wardrobe harkens back to the bygone era in which he still feels rooted, favoring turtlenecks, blazers, and scarves over his co-w0rkers’ much more casual attire.

Rowena Ravenclaw

Rowena Ravenclaw from Harry Potter

There is no official actress for Rowena Ravenclaw as the founder died long before Harry Potter attended Hogwarts. And while there are descriptions in the book, cosplaying as Rowena still leaves lots of room for personal interpretation. The one thing you don’t want to forget, however, is her diadem.

For this version you’ll need a long auburn wig, a blue gown, matching blue slippers, a wand, and a leather journal with a blue stone. An eagle necklace rounds out the bewitching look.

Stacy Stickler from Stickin' Around

Stacy Stickler from Stickin’ Around

Stacy (Ashley Taylor) may seem a little bossy. But what is a girl to do when she knows what she wants and how to get things done? She really does love her friends and family and means well. But boy do they sometimes get on her nerves!

Stacy’s look makes for a great closet cosplay. An orange tank top, orange skirt, and yellow socks cuffed above pink shoes is an easy look using pieces that can transition to other cosplays or work with your daily wardrobe. The most intensive part of the cosplay is her hair which you can replicate with your own hair and some pomade if you are so inclined.
