DC Bombshells is an alternate reality where the female superheroes guard the homefront during WWII. Black Canary is a nightclub singer modeled after the pinups of the 1940’s.

Leatherheads

“Leatherheads” is a comedy film about the early days of professional American football in the 1920’s. The film’s main character, Jimmy “Dodge” Connelly, is loosely based on real-life football player, Harold “Red” Grange, The team, the Duluth Bulldogs, is loosely based on the Duluth Eskimos.

Stu Pickles

Stu Pickles is the wacky toy inventor father of “Rugrats” main protagonist Tommy Pickles. He is a loving and kind father, but like most of the parents in the Rugrats cast, including his wife Didi, he is oblivious and often outsmarted by the babies in the show.

Shotaro Kaneda is the leader of the Capsules biker gang and the main protagonist of the Akira manga and anime franchise. He is former best friends with Tetsuo Shima, who he must turn against when the latter goes mad with power.

The San Franpsycho from Scooby Doo

In season 2, episode 8 of “What’s New, Scooby Doo?” the cleverly named San Franpsycho is harassing competitors at the Grind Games, a skateboarding competition in San Fransisco. He’s menacing, hostile, and downright destructive, but in the end he’s no match for a skateboarding Scooby Doo. You know what they say, “if you can’t Doo the time, don’t Doo the crime.”
