Selina Kyle from Batman Returns

In 1992’s Batman Returns, Michelle Pfeiffer plays Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, who is tragically murdered by being pushed out of a window. Selina’s style aside from her stitched cat suit is a lot of wool + fur coats and black dresses. Her makeup also consists of grey and brown eyeshadow and rose pink lipstick, contrasting to her blue eyeshadow and red lipstick when in costume.

Dr. Finkelstein

In The Nightmare Before Christmas, a grumpy, muttering old geezer, Dr. Finkelstein (William Hickey) is the creator of Sally (Catherine O’Hara) and the resident scientist in Halloween Town. While he is often shown being grouchy, he is highly protective of Sally and always eager to research and experiment with new ideas – especially if they involve Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon). At the end of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Dr. Finkelstein is shown to be wheeled around by his new wife that he created with half of his brain.

Adam Maitland from Beetlejuice

Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin), is the husband of Barbara Maitland and is one of the protagonists of the Tim Burton 1988 film Beetlejuice. After the two die, they enlist the help of bio-exorcist Betelgeuse to get the family who moved into their home out. Adam’s monster form with mask and eyeballs is optional, but if you do want to do it, make proper modifications to them such as holes on the eyes for your fingers.

Betelgeuse

Betelgeuse, also known as “Beetlejuice” is a trickster and mischievous ghost. He is the titular antagonist of the Tim Burton film Beetlejuice as well as the protagonist of the 90s cartoon series. Known as a “bio-exorcist,” Betelgeuse is able to get rid of the living from the homes of the dead. Say his name three times, and he is summoned.

Joker (1989)

Joker (1989)

In 1989’s Batman, Joker (Jack Nicholson) becomes the Joker as we know him after mobster Carl Grissom sets up his second-in-command to be killed in a vat of chemicals. It doesn’t finish him off, but leaves him depraved and disfigured, with a maniacal laugh and deadly vendetta. Nicholson’s is a classic look that’s since been re-interpreted by Heath Ledger and Jared Leto.

Emily The Corpse Bride

In Corpse Bride, Emily (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter) is an undead bride who pursues Victor Van Dort after he inadvertently proposes to her. Despite the differences in their mortality, Emily manages to convince Victor to end his life so that they can marry in the Land of the Dead.

Miss Argentina

In Beetlejuice, Miss Argentina (Patrice Martinez) serves as the receptionist in the afterlife waiting room. She had an unfortunate “little accident” which is how she ended up there. Her accident however doesn’t really explain why she’s green.

Lock, Shock, and Barrel

Lock, Shock and Barrel are all about harmless fun. Dressed in variations of classic Halloween costumes, these kids embody the spirit of the holiday. Be warned that copying these looks is a team effort – you can’t really have one without the others. So you’re going to need to recruit some friends to play dress-up with you but just make sure you call dibs on your favorite one first.

Mayor of Halloweentown

The Mayor of Halloweentown may be incapable of making major decision on his own but not when it comes to fashion. With a megaphone in hand, this pseudo politician does manage to make himself look somewhat official with a mayor ribbon. While you’re not expected to transform your head into a piece of candy corn to obtain his look, the spider tie definitely is a must.
