Millie Manx from NOS4A2
Millie Manx (played by Mattea Conforti) is the daughter of Charlie and Cassie Manx on the show NOS4A2. Millie has the distinction of being the first of Charlie’s children in Christmasland. However, she eventually escapes to the Real World through the faltering veil. Millie wears a blue soldier uniform and has long black hair with bangs, not to mention her terrifying vampire teeth.
Soji Asha from Star Trek: Picard
Soji Asha (played by Isa Briones who also played Soji’s twin sister Dahj as well as another android named Sutra) is one of two androids that were designed to look human. And, more impressive still, they were programmed to believe they are human. Their programming is descended from Data, a fan favorite on Star Trek: The Next Generation. While Data was unfortunately killed before the events of Star Trek: Picard, he lives on in his ‘daughters’.
Soji’s costume changes a few times throughout the show because, unlike most characters in previous Star Trek shows, she is not a Starfleet officer. Her costume when viewers first meet her, however, is very recognizable and makes for a great cosplay.
A grey jumpsuit forms the base. You can also use a grey shirt and matching pants but a jumpsuit would be easiest. Wear a black undershirt and black boots with it. Copy Soji’s hairstyle with a short wig and, as the final touch, add a necklace of two linked circles just like the one Soji and Dahj wear.
Marla Singer from Fight Club
Marla Singer (played by Helena Bonham Carter) is the main female protagonist in Fight Club. Marla has a death wish and carries an apathetic attitude. She makes some cash from stealing clothes from laundry mats and selling them off. She gets a free cup of coffee by going to various support group meetings that have no relation to anything she herself may be going through. She is promiscuous and sleeps with The Narrator’s roommate, Tyler Durden, after getting The Narrator’s number originally. Marla is a strong spirited person despite her struggles with mental illness and addiction. She does not care what others think of her and does what she wants when she wants.
This costume is relatively easy to put together. First get your hair messy with the got2b beach matte paste and put a section of it up with a scrunchie. Then apply the nyx black eyeshadow base and after that the shadow. It can be applied pretty messy with one eye shadow brush and a bit of smudging with your fingers. After putting on the cami and the skirt and you get to the cardigan use however many brooches you would like to close it. You can style them like buttons down the cardigan. I suggest using at least 3. Marla has her’s buttoned from top to bottom with bottom part open. Finally, finish putting on the rest of the outfit and apply lip gloss. This costume works well for either Halloween or cosplay events.
Plague Knight from Shovel Knight
Shovel Knight is a 2-D side-scrolling game. In this game, Plague Knight is a member of the Order of No Quarter. As a member of the Order and a master alchemist, Plague Knight serves the Enchantress. The Plague Knight’s costume is very similar to the familiar plague doctor popular at Halloween and as part of the steampunk aesthetic. However, to create his green mak, you will need to set aside a little DIY time to either create one yourself using green fabric and an online tutorial or to paint a white mask to match the color of your gloves and belt.
Stoick the Vast from How to Train Your Dragon
Stoick the Vast (voiced by Gerard Butler) is the leader of the Vikings and father to Hiccup in the How to Train Your Dragon series. Stoick is tough and strong, which is clear just from looking at him. With a fierce red beard and Scottish brogue to match, Stoick is a fighter who loves his son, even though they often disagree.
Mr. Goldenfold from Rick and Morty
Mr. Goldenfold (voiced by Brandon Johnson) is Morty Smith‘s math teacher on the Adult Swim show Rick and Morty. Mr. Goldenfold teaches at Harry Herpson High School, and his outfit consists of a yellow sweater, matching shoes, with bright orange shirt and purple tie. Mr. Goldenfold is divorced and apparently attracted to the TV character Mrs. Pancakes from The Days and Nights of Mrs. Pancakes.
Abradolf Lincler from Rick and Morty
Abradolf Lincler (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) is a genetic experiment created by Rick Sanchez on the Adult Swim show Rick and Morty. Rather than become the morally balanced super leader Rick had hoped for, Abradolf is a confused genetic hybrid with an identity crisis. Abradolf has the hat and beard of Lincoln, with the mustache and army clothing of Hitler, plus a high tech vest.
Nakia from Black Panther
Nakia (played by the fantastic Lupita Nyong’o) is one of Wakanda’s best spies in Black Panther. She regularly leaves Wakanda to help others and to ensure that the country she loves remains safe. When Wakandan civil war breaks out she is quick to defend her king and the beliefs they share. And though she tells Okoye she is not a general, her strength and compassion clearly rally those around her!
Nakia’s most memorable costume – the one she wears in the final battle of the Wakandan civil war – is gorgeously ornate. It’s not an easy look to recreate but you can get close with this premade dress costume. Add black leggings and boots under that for a battle-ready look. Of course Nakia joins the battle fully prepared! She carries two ring blades or chakrams. You might not have access to Shuri’s tech but embedded LED lights in the props pictures above get you close! Add to that a Dora Milaje spear and a vibranium bracelet and you’re ready for battle too!
Wanda Blake from Todd McFarlane’s Spawn
Wanda Blake (played by Dominique Jennings) is the widow of Albert Francis Simmons in Spawn. Since Al’s death 5 years ago she has moved on and remarried Al’s best friend Terry Fitzgerald. The two have a daughter named Cyan. Wanda is a strong and passionate woman. She works as a lawyer and seeks the truth above all else. Wanda dresses mostly casual while she is out of the office. She wears basic clothes with gold jewelry and glossy red lipstick.
Belle French from Once Upon a Time
Bookish Belle French (Emilie de Ravin) is the Storybrook persona of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, cursed with the rest of the town (sans Rumplestiltskin and the Evil Queen Regina) to forget her true identity. In this unfamiliar world, she reacquaints with her Beast in the form of Mr. Gold. Belle’s fashion sense is endearingly preppy — flared skater skirts, cardigans, and very high heels that compliment her petite frame are staples in her outfits.
