Miles Bron from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Miles Bron (played by Edward Norton) is the enigmatic billionaire at the heart of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Miles invites all his closest friends to a remote island for a murder mystery game, only for things to get a little too real. Despite his affluent status, Miles is depicted as mostly wearing relatively simple clothing. He greets his guests, including estranged business partner Andi Brand and incredible sleuth Benoit Blanc, barefoot and wearing striped pajamas. At dinner, he dons a pair of khakis with a grey v-neck sweater and a pendant necklace which ties in to the murder mystery he’s devised for his guests.
Claire Debella from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Claire Debella (played by Kathryn Hahn) is a liberal politician whose biggest donor is Miles Bron in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Claire has known Miles and the rest of the crew for many years, and remains loyal to Miles because of his immense contributions to her political campaign, even going so far as to lie about the beginnings of the company Miles founded with Andi Brand at the latter’s expense despite having concerns about some of his projects. Claire wears hardly any color throughout the film, continuously opting for shades of beige and tan in her wardrobe, so much so that Miles even comments on it at one point. To recreate her look from dinner, you’ll need a beige dress, blazer, and espadrille sandals. Finding a sheath dress that matches may cost a bit more, since her chic look does come with a price tag. But if you plan to leave the blazer on, you may be able to get away with a casual dress to wear underneath that’s a bit more budget friendly.
Whiskey from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Whiskey (played by Madelyn Cline) is the girlfriend of Duke Cody working to build her brand by any means necessary in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Whiskey quickly strikes up a rapport with Andi Brand once they are on the island, and is caught having an affair with Miles Bron by Detective Benoit Blanc. Whiskey arrives for the trip wearing white cut-offs and a white tie-front crop top with tasseled boots. For dinner, she dons a rust-colored dress with side cut-outs. She always wears a gold necklace with her astrology sign, Taurus.
Andi Brand from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Cassandra “Andi” Brand (played by Janelle Monae) is the former business partner of billionaire Miles Bron in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Scorned by her former friends, Andi unexpectedly arrives at a private island murder mystery party to stir things up as Detective Benoit Blanc investigates. Andi’s dinner party attire consists of a crisp white suit, studded gladiator sandals, and gold open hoop earrings. Andi also wears two one-shoulder dresses.
Duke Cody from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Duke Cody (played by Dave Bautista) is a streamer and influencer in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Duke shoes up guns literally blazing with his girlfriend Whiskey in tow to join Miles Bron‘s murder mystery weekend on a private Greek island where what is meant to be a game turns deadly, and Detective Benoit Blanc‘s deductive abilities are once again put to the test. Duke arrives for the weekend wearing pink pants, tan boots, and a jaguar-printed button-down. His gun is always close at hand, including when Duke takes a dip in the pool and arrives at dinner wearing khakis, slides, and a long-sleeved shirt printed with chains and coral. Duke is also covered head to toe in tattoos, and a sheer tattoo-print shirt can help you get closer if you plan to wear your shirt open.
Birdie Jay from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Birdie Jay (played by Kate Hudson) is a former model in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Birdie isn’t the brightest of her friend group, which includes politician Claire Debella and scientist Lionel Toussaint, but she’s more than excited to abscond from quarantine life to a private Greek island for a murder mystery weekend at the bequest of Miles Bron. Her stunning metallic rainbow gown worn at dinner is custom-made for the movie, and the nearest couture inspiration is nearly impossible to track down, so don’t be afraid to stray from the film to find a fittingly colorful floor-length multicolor dress, paired with colorful eye makeup. Birdie also wears a breezy jumpsuit with an oversized hat on the boat ride to the island, if you’re feeling a little more boho than black tie.
Detective Benoit Blanc from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Detective Benoit Blanc (played by Daniel Craig) returns in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Hired by Andi Brand‘s sister to take on a case involving Miles Bron and a group of influential friends including Claire Debella, Duke Cody, Birdie Jay, and Lionel Toussaint, Detective Blanc travels to a private island to attend a murder mystery dinner. Of course, the mystery that truly unfolds is altogether more deadly than the game is meant to be. Detective Blanc wears a host of vacation-worthy outfits, leaning toward lighter colors and fabrics. His looks include a light pink shirt with tan pants, white sneakers, and a blue handkerchief for the boat ride to the island, a tan suit with a blue shirt and pink handkerchief for dinner, and a blue and white striped swimming ensemble that appears to be straight out of an old-timey film.
Mabel Mora from Only Murders in the Building
Mable Mora (played by Selena Gomez) is a main character in Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. When Mable arrives at the Arconia apartment complex in New York City, she’s a bit of an anomaly. An artist, it turns out Mabel is staying at her aunt’s for free in exchange for fixing it up, but she has a complicated past with the Arconia, which is revealed over the course of the first season of the true-crime podcast she hosts with Charles and Oliver. Season two sees her past further revealed after a bloody discovery in her apartment. Mabel wears a number of quirky outfits, often borrowing pieces from her aunt’s wardrobe to mix and match unique looks. Focus on finding some cozy retro-looking sweaters and pops of color when putting together your costume.
Oliver Putnam from Only Murders in the Building
Oliver Putnam (played by Martin Short) is one of the three main characters in the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. A long-time New York City director, Oliver has an outlandish personality, his love for scarves matched only by his affinity for dips. Along with Charles and Mabel, two of his neighbors, and fellow true-crime junkies, Oliver sets out to solve a murder in his apartment building, the iconic Arconia. Often seen with a cellphone in hand to record spur-of-the-moment commentary, Oliver’s character is almost as colorful as his wardrobe. When recreating his look, focus on layering dressy clothes with fabulous coats and silk scarves.
