Sue Nahmee from Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie
In Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, Sue Nahmee (Wanda Sykes) is the CEO of B.O.O.T.S. Her villainous plan is to clone and sell the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom, like Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and Patrick, as cuddly pets. Luckily, SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy are there to save the day. Sue is accompanied by Cuda, her pet lap dog.
Perch Perkins from SpongeBob SquarePants
In SpongeBob SquarePants, Perch Perkins is a famous field reporter at the Bikini Bottom News. His appearance changes throughout the TV episodes and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, switching back and forth from orange to purple tones. In multiple instances it’s hinted this is the result of his vanity, with suggestions that he smears on purple makeup and wears a toupee. For this costume, pants need not apply.
The Mayor from the SpongeBob Musical
The Mayor is a minor character in SpongeBob Squarepants: The Broadway Musical. A stage adaptation of the Nickelodeon cartoon, the show premiered on Broadway at the Palace Theater in 2017. As the name suggests, she is the Mayor of Bikini Bottom. Gaelen Gilliland portrayed the Mayor in the Broadway production.
Larry the Lobster from SpongeBob the Musical
Larry the Lobster is a minor character in SpongeBob Squarepants: The Broadway Musical. A stage adaptation of the Nickelodeon cartoon, the show premiered on Broadway at the Palace Theater in 2017. Washington portrayed Larry in the Broadway production.
Pearl Krabs from the SpongeBob Musical
Pearl Krabs is a character in SpongeBob Squarepants: The Broadway Musical. A stage adaptation of the Nickelodeon cartoon, the show premiered on Broadway at the Palace Theater in 2017. Pearl is the high-spirited yet overdramatic teenage daughter of Mr. Krabs. In the musical, she wants to become a rock band singer, not manager of the Krusty Krab like her father hopes. Jai’len Christine Li Josey portrayed Pearl in the Broadway production. You can stick with a cheerleader uniform, which is what her costume is based on, or go more accurate to the musical with a light pink tennis dress and iron on a “P” varsity letter. For added accuracy, use the black fabric paint to create the stripes on her jacket.
Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob SquarePants
Sandy Cheeks (voiced by Carolyn Lawrence) is a squirrel who lives underwater in the cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants. Sandy is a scientist who created her underwater suit and air dome so she can survive in Bikini Bottom. She is close friends with both SpongeBob and Patrick Star. In order to survive underwater, Sandy must wear a special suit so she can breathe. The suit is white with grey boots and includes a domed helmet. To recreate her look, you can dress mostly as an astronaut and then add a pair of animal ears and a squirrel tail. Put a pink flower decal on your helmet to finish the costume. If you’re looking for something a little easier to move in, you could also dress the way Sandy does in her air dome. Just add a purple ruffle skirt and strapless top over a squirrel onesie for a fun twist on her appearance from the show.
Princess Mindy from Spongebob Squarepants
Princess Mindy (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) is the daughter of Neptune in the animated series SpongeBob Squarepants. She first appears in the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie, and later in a few episodes. She is good friends with both SpongeBob and Patrick. Princess Mindy is a mermaid, so the most important part of her costume will be the mermaid skirt. From there, some green body paint, a blue wig, and the right accessories will complete the look.
Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob SquarePants
Squidward Tentacles (voiced by Rodger Bumpass) is SpongeBob‘s prickly neighbor and co-worker on the cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants. Squidward has a light blue-green body and wears a yellow polo shirt. As a squid, Squidward has several more legs than any human who might decide to dress up as him. If you want to just wear the costume without the extra limbs, that’s certainly fine. If you decide you’d like to have a little fun and DIY a few extra legs, consider using pool noodles and following a tutorial like this one.
Patchy the Pirate from SpongeBob SquarePants
Spongebob might live in a pineapple under the sea but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have fans on land. In fact he has a whole fan club. And Patchy the Pirate (played by Tom Kenny) is the president. Self-appointed, of course. But that still counts! And with his trusty – if snarky – cohost Potty close at hand, he’s always ready for a special Spongebob adventure!
Patchy is pretty much your stereotypical pirate. He wears a black tricorn hat over a red bandana along with an eye patch and a scraggly black beard. A purple velvet jacket over a white shirt pairs with a set of black “pirate pants” and black boot covers for a look fit for a presidential pirate. A black sash repurposed as a bandolier, a hook toy for your hand, a fake peg leg, and a green parrot toy finish off the look!
Mermaid Man
In SpongeBob SquarePants, Mermaid Man is an old semi-retired superhero who resides in a retirement home with his sidekick Barnacle Boy. He suffers from poor eyesight, hearing loss, and forgetfulness.
