Misako from River City Girls
River City Girls is a beat-em-up brawler game that was released for multiple platforms. One of its two main characters, Misako (voiced by Kayli Mills) starts out the game in detention. When she finds out her boyfriend has been kidnapped – along with her best friend’s boyfriend – the girls break out of detention to save the day!
Misako’s costume is fairly easy and also fair comfortable! She wears her black hair in a bob pinned back with red pins. Her uniform shirt and red tie are easy to copy, so long as you tuck her your tie like she does! From there all you need are a pair of black shorts, a pink backpack, green thigh-high socks, and pink loafers. Put it all together and you can be brawling in River City in no time!
John Paul “J.P.” Mercer from Craig of the Creek
John Paul Mercer (voiced by Michael Croner) – known as J.P. to his friends – is the oldest kid on the show Craig of the Creek. But being the oldest doesn’t make him the leader. In fact J.P. seems happiest going with the flow that his friends set. He’s loyal and kind-hearted, always quick to help those in need and capable of easily make friends.
Cosplaying as J.P. requires a little bit of DIY. His signature orange hair can be recreated with a wig but his hockey jersey is a different story. To replicate it you will need to buy a plain orange hockey jersey and then use white fabric to add the band around the abdomen and the smaller bands around the arms.
J.P.’s tan jeans will also require a little bit of DIY since his rough and tumblr brand of fun has worn a hole in the right knee and left them a bit dirty. Once that hole is in place, though, your outfit just needs a pair of black sneakers to be complete!
Kelsey Pokoly from Craig of the Creek
Kelsey Pokoly (voiced first by Georgina Cordova and then later by Noel Wells) is the smallest and possibly youngest member of the main gang on Craig of the Creek. She is a very dramatic child with a love of books and a wild imagination that fuels her adventures.
Kelsey’s cosplay requires just a little bit of DIY but is fairly straight-forward. Pink shorts, blue rain boots, a dark blue cape, and a pet budgie are the easy-to-gather parts of the costume. A red wig will replicate her hair but it will have to be styled in a bun that sits at the back of the head.
Her shirt is where the DIY really comes in though. The chest of Kelsey’s shirt is taken up by a large, pale heart. This can be recreated on a light blue or light teal shirt with a bleach pen. Once that’s done, the costume is ready to go!
Black Noir from The Boys
Black Noir (played by Nathan Mitchell) is the most mysterious of The Seven. He’s one of the deadliest martial artists on the planet but that’s almost the only thing known about him other than his enhanced strength and senses.
If you cosplay Black Noir, you have two options. The first is to get custom pieces but that can get pricey. The second is to use existing pieces that get you the same look though it won’t be exact. In this case, a padded motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants give you Black Noir’s protected look. A tactical helmet and black knit balaclava will keep your face covered though you will have to work out some sort of tinting for the lenses. Finally black combat boots and tactical gloves fully conceal your identity and turn you into Black Noir
Guild from Fortnite
Guild is a skin for sale in the Fortnite shop. He can be applied to any player for their Battle Royale sessions. While he might not be a separate character he sure brings a lot of personality to the table!
Guild is pretty easily identifiable among other players. His orange baseball cap, tattoos and face paint, grappling hook, and thigh sheathed-blade are all hard to miss. Never mind that his combat boots, jeans, leather belt, fingerless gloves, and grey t-shirt are generally nondescript. The thing that really stands out about his clothes is the yellow pocket on his shirt which you can achieve with some yellow fabric paint! Similarly you can use black body paint to recreate his tattoos and face paint!
Izzy from Total Drama Island
Izzy (voiced by Katie Crown) is one of the more dynamic members of the Total Drama Island cast. She is high-strung and kind-hearted with a trusting and competitive nature.
She’s also very in tune with nature so her costume reflects that. She keeps her hair loose and wild. A green crop top, green shorts, and light green wrap make up most of her outfit. She also wears green slip-on shoes and a green wrap bracelet on one wrist.
Chandler Bing from Friends
Few shows are as iconic of the late ’90s and early 2000s than Friends. And while everyone has their favorites, pretty much everyone agrees that Chandler Bing (played by Matthew Perry) was the funniest member of the group. He always had a joke or sarcastic comment ready. Whether or not it was the right thing to say, well, that varied from comment to comment.
Dressing like Chandler is very easy. Classic jeans and brown boots paired with a bowling shirt under an unbuttoned black vest. Both the bowling shirt and the vest can be used to mimic several of Chandler’s outfits and the other pieces are versatile as well which makes this a great cosplay for people who want their pieces to transition from one costume to another.
King Candy from Wreck-It Ralph
King Candy (voiced by Alan Tudyk) might look like a sweetheart but he’s the biggest villain on the track in Sugar Rush. And his villainy doesn’t stop when the flag drops. When Ralph threatens the sweet setup the King has going, he lets the big guy see the full force of his royal anger.
As the King it makes sense that King Candy’s outfit is one of the most lavish in the game. His crown is narrow but tall, sitting high on the bald dome of his head. It might be hard to find an exact match for the crown but a bald cape and some fake eyebrows repurposed for the wings on the side of his head will at least give you the royal ‘do. A purple coat with tails, a red bow tie, gold pantaloons, gold tights, and purple shoes are the most eye-catching parts of his outfit.
There is a little bit of DIY with this costumes, however. Gold harem pants can be shortened into the King’s pantaloons since finding a pair ready-made is very hard to do and expensive. And the white shirt under the coat can be accented with white paper doilies to recreate the large ruff of the King’s coat. Use a red sharpie to color in the peppermint swirls at the top of the doilies and find yourself a costume cane and you’re ready to go!
Yadina Riddle from Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum
Yadina Riddle (voiced by Zoe Hatz) is the kind of girl other little girls look up to. It’s hard not to when she grows up to be the president of the United States! Determined and curious she is the perfect companion for her brother’s adventures. And the perfect heroine in her own!
Cosplaying as Yadina is fairly easy. A black wig in short ponytails, a blue t-shirt, pink coveralls with a star painted on the chest, black converse, and a stuffed turtle toy are all you need. That and a can-do attitude!
Kitty Katswell from T.U.F.F Puppy
Kitty might be the number one agent in the Turbo Undercover Fighting Force but that doesn’t mean her job is a breeze. Especially not when she has a partner like Dudley. They mange to make it work though, thanks in no small part to Kitty’s extensive training, determined attitude, and wide range of skills.
