Paula from Animal Crossing
Sporty and caring, Paula is a delight on every island. She’s the sisterly type, always willing to lend a hand and step up if someone’s bothering you. And you know she’ll be around. With her love of sports and the outdoors, she’s all over the island!
You could get Paula’s look by springing for a bear suit and then adding the clothes on top. But for the sake of comfort – and nailing Paula’s adorable style – this costume is a blend of human and bear.
The first thing you’ll need is a pair of bear ears. Clip those into a blonde wig and you’ve got a good start. Then take white fabric paint and copy the script on Paula’s shirt. When it’s dry layer it over a blue camisole and brown leggings. Add on some tan shoes and a brow band in white and black stripes and you’re ready to do laps across the beaches! Just don’t scare off all the fish.
Amy Rose from Sonic the Hedgehog
Amy Rose (formerly known as Rosy the Rascal) is one of the sweetest hedgehog girls you’ll ever meet. Until you make her angry. Or get between her and Sonic. Nevermind that the blue blur doesn’t exactly feel the same way, of course. Rose isn’t about to let that stop her from helping him however she can!
There are a few ways to get Amy Rose’s bubblegum pink look. All three involve a wig and a combination of pink and coral face paint, of course. The looks differ, however, when it comes to your arms and legs.
You can use the same body paint from your face to paint your arms and legs. If that’s a bit much you can opt for pink tights and a pink shirt under your dress. The final option is to use a body suit under your dress instead of the shirt and tights to avoid anything riding up or falling down while you’re cosplaying.
Once you decide on your pink base, you’re in for a little more DIY. Finding red dresses with white trim is pretty hard unless you want a Mrs. Claus look. So you’ll want to get a red dress, white ribbon, and some fabric glue. For Amy Rose’s boots you’ll want red rain boots than you then use paint to detail.
Finally put on some white gloves and chunky gold bracelets. Now ready to run after the speedster himself right alongside Amy Rose!
Kuiil from The Mandalorian
“I have spoken.” Kuiil is a character in The Mandalorian, the wildly popular Star Wars TV series on Disney+. He is an Ugnaught moisture farmer and former indentured servant of the Galactic Empire. When he meets the Mandalorian, he leaves his life of solitude and assists him in protecting the Child. Despite his gruff personality, Kuiil is wise, patient, and kind. His relationship with the bounty hunder droid IG-11 plays into the overarching parenting theme. Using his advanced mechanical skills, he was able to reprogram the droid to be benevolent. Kuiil is a favorite among fans, and (spoiler) his death was a particular somber moment in the show. Nick Nolte did the voice while Misty Rosas performed wearing a latex mask controlled by animatronic puppetry. We included a similar mask if you really want to commit to the look.
Prince Hans of the Southern Isles
Prince Hans of the Southern Isles (voiced by Santino Fontana) is a character in the Disney movie Frozen. He visits the kingdom of Arendelle to attend Queen Elsa‘s coronation ball. Princess Anna becomes smitten, and they plan to marry immediately. However Elsa refuses to bless their marriage, which causes tension between the sisters. When Anna is dying from a frozen heart, she asks Prince Hans to kiss her in an act of true love. Plot twist: he reveals he never loved Anna and only wanted to marry her to take over the kingdom, as his status as one of twelve older brothers meant he could never become king. He then lies to Elsa, saying she killed her sister. Anna rushes in time to save a grieving Elsa from his sword. In the epilogue, Anna punches Prince Hans and he falls over the boat into the water.
Shadow from Bear in the Big Blue House
Shadow (voiced by Tara Mooney) is a recurring character on the Disney Channel show Bear in the Big Blue House. Just as her name suggests, Shadow is a shadow in the shape of a young girl. Her role on the series consists primarily of telling stories, sometimes in the form of a song, with an Irish accent. To dress as shadow, you will want to start with a black bodysuit and then add black clothing overtop to imitate her easily recognizable silhouette.
Loonette the Clown from The Big Comfy Couch
Loonette (Alyson Court) is the lead character in The Big Comfy Couch, a Canadian children’s show from the 90s. Loonette is a young clown who lives with her dolly named Molly. Every episode begins with Loonette waking up on the eponymous couch. She reads stories to Molly, performs a Clock Rug Stretch, and completes a Ten Second Tidy. Her family and friends, such as Granny Garbanzo and Major Bedhead, are also clowns. Put your hair into pigtails using the red scrunchies, and cut a hole on either side of the purple hat, then slide your hair through. You can also use a wig with detachable pigtail clips as suggested in this guide. While there isn’t an existing replica of her sweater, you can get away with a plain white long sleeve top. For added detail, you can draw the suns and moons with yellow and red marker.
Leah from Shimmer and Shine
Leah (voiced by Alina Foley) is a genie and one of the main characters of the Nick, Jr. show Shimmer and Shine. Leah has long blonde hair, and is shown to be a caring and honest person, dedicated to helping her friends any way she can. Leah’s genie outfit is light pink with gold shoes, while her normal outfit consists of gold sneakers, a blue skirt, and a pink shirt with stars on it.
Colette from Brawl Stars
Colette (voiced by Katie Snyder) is a chromatic brawler in the Brawl Stars mobile video game. She is a pathologically obsessed fan, particularly of Spike and Piper, as hinted by her straitjacket. Collette works at the gift shop. She can be unlocked as a Brawl Pass Reward in Tier 30. Colette’s costume includes a light blue shirt and red vest, as well as a purple scrapbook that is also incorporated into some of her attacks.
Raymond from Animal Crossing
Raymond is a character in the video game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. He is a smug cat villager, whose name means “advice” or “council giver.” He gets along with most other villagers, but he comes across as snooty and egotistical. As indicated by his business attire, Raymond is rather strict, and prefers neatness and precision. These qualities are exemplified in Pocket Camp, where he later appears. In addition, he has the nature hobby.
Aphrodite from Lore Olympus
Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of beauty and love. She is the lover of Ares and mother of Eros (Cupid). In Lore Olympus, her skin and hair are light purple and she often wears fashionable clothing in either white or pastel colors. Her title makes her vain, viewing any offense against her beauty very personally. If anyone dare to say another is more beautiful, then Aphrodite will exact her revenge. This happened with both Persephone and Psyche, in which she employed her son to seek vengeance. When he fell in love with Psyche, Aphrodite turned her into a nymph so she could live on Olympus. However she’s still annoyed by Persephone.
