John Egbert from Homestuck
John is your typical nerd. Until, of course, he isn’t. He is calm and dedicated to his friends but when pushed too far he will do whatever it takes to protect his people.
John has three looks throughout the comic. The first is an all-white look with a white shirt, shite pants, and white shoes. The shirt has a picture of a creature similar to Slimer from Ghostbusters but is not quite right.
His dream version wears a yellow shirt and yellow pants with a moon decal on the shirt. Blue shoes finish off this outfit. In his god-tier outfit the colors are inverted. A pair of blue pants and a blue shirt with an air curl decal on the shirt make up the majority of his look while yellow shoes finish it off.
In all forms John has black hair that can be mimicked with a wig. And you can either choose to stick with your natural skin ton or use white body paint to get a look like John in the comics.
Annabeth Chase
Annabeth Chase is a main character in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books written by Rick Riordan. She is a half blood, specifically the daughter of Athena, and is one of the seven demigods in the Prophecy. Like her mother, she is intelligent, witty, and level-headed. However, her fatal flaw is hubris, thinking she can do things better than everyone, even the gods. Her main weapon is a bronze knife, but she can wield any weapon with extraordinary skill. Before arriving at Camp Half Blood, she traveled alongside Luke and Thalia. At first, she playfully teased Percy, but their friendship eventually blossomed into romance.

In the lore of the show, these type of vampires are called rippers. In school, she enjoyed rebellion and detention. However, when she accidentally murdered her best friend, she turned off her humanity. Without it, Jade became cold, unpredictable, and unstable. Her lack of empathy got her banished to a prison world, where she’d torment her companions for fun. Ten years later, she regained her humanity thanks to Josie, a former frenemy and current crush. Feeling newfound guilt and remorse, Jade apologized for everything she had done.
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is a unique shows. In so, so many ways. And that is part of what makes it such a great cosplay option. That and, of course, the group nature of it! Grab two friends and figure out who will be Yellow Guy, Red Guy, and Duck Guy. Then sit down to a little be of a DIY and enjoy your cosplay!
All three characters require a fair amount of DIY. The nature of the DIY varies from character to character of course. But there are a couple of supplies you’ll need for most if not all of the characters. These include acrylic paint, a glue gun, and ping pong balls.
For Red Guy you will also need some red acrylic yarn and a red beanie to recreate his mask. Just cut and glue lots of red yarn lengths to the beanie and then glue painted ping pong balls on top for his eyes. It will be a little difficult to see through, which is something to take into account if wearing the costume to a convention. To finish Red Guy’s look put on a red jumpsuit and black boots. You’re all set!
Yellow Guy’s version of DIY is a little different. It’s hard to find overalls in that color blue. So your best bet is to buy white cotton overalls and then dye with Rit dye. Once they’re dry you’ll put them on over a yellow body suit and finish the look with white sneakers. Yellow and orange face paint will give you the look of Yellow Guy’s “puppet” head and a blue wig finishes off the look entirely.
Finally there is Duck Guy. You can probably find a mascot head that looks like his but those are expensive. Your best budget bet is to use the acrylic paints and paint either a small crow beak or a “plague doctor” mask to resemble Duck Guy. Wear that over a black hood with a black jumpsuit and black boots and you’re ready to go!
Mr. Lancer from Danny Phantom

Capricorn
Capricorn (December 22nd to January 19th) is the Cardinal earth sign and 10th on the zodiac wheel. Capricorns, symbolized by the sea goat, are skilled navigators of both material and emotional realms. Capricorns are very serious goal oriented creatures with the strive to climb to the top and succeed at every task. If they put their mind to it they can achieve great things. The planet Saturn which rules over time, social order, and conformity has quite a hold on Capricorn which is why many believe Capricorn to be too career driven. When Capricorn learns to make a little time for play they tend to thrive. This costume features a pop of iridescent color from the pleated green midi skirt, while the rest of the outfit jumps between with black and white with silver accessories. Worn together it is a great unique choice for any Capricorn on Halloween.

Patrick Jane (Season Six) from The Mentalist
With the defeat of serial killer Red John behind him at the midpoint of Season 6, Patrick Jane (played by Australian actor Simon Baker) escapes the law to Mexico, where he spends the next two years living the idyllic life of a hermit. His old mind-bending ways are a thing of the past, or so he thinks, as he traipses across scenic beaches in a red sarong, worn Oxfords (with no socks), and custom-made designer shirt (with a noticeable lack of epaulets, his tailor is quick to point out). That is, until the FBI summons him back to the United States to solve a series of cases in return for his freedom. Jane may have returned to active Mentalist duties, but his dress reflects his all the more laissez-faire attitude towards his job of closing cases.
