Nostalgia is something that is the driving factor behind so many trends online. We look back on our childhood and together we appreciate and remember things like Barbies to Bratz dolls. The internet has brought back their popularity over the past years, realizing the how great the fashion these dolls have and one of these that have been trending recently, are the historic line of the American Girl Dolls. American Girl Dolls were very popular in the early 2000s. They came with books of their stories and each are from different time periods.

In this I’ll be covering how you can create a costume after the doll Kirsten. Kirsten is one of the iconic dolls from the line and her story is one that takes place in 1854.  To dress like Kirsten, start with a blue colonial-style dress. Under this wear a white petticoat and white bloomers with a lace trim at the hem. Over this wear a red gingham apron and gold heart locket necklace. Pair with yellow and white striped socks and brown boots. Braid your hair in two braids then time with elastics back on the base of the braid. Cover that area with blue ribbons and wear a red gingham bonnet.
