animated feature
Lou from UglyDolls

Katie Mitchell from The Mitchells vs the Machines
Katie Mitchell (voiced by Abbi Jacobson) is the main protagonist of the Sony Pictures Animation film The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Katie is quirky and creative, and a film student in college. Katie wears distressed jeans and shoes embellished with markered details. To have some fun with her look, be sure to add little details to your own clothes (and hands!) like Katie does in the movie.
Gabriela “Gabi” Hernández from Vivo
Gabriela “Gabi” Hernández (voiced by Ynairaly Simo) is the the 10-year-old deuteragonist of the animated film Vivo. Vivo, the titular monkey, enlists Gabi to help him deliver a song to a famous singer at her farewell show. Gabi has purple and a colorful sense of style, with a colorful plaid skirt an bright pink collared shirt paired with a checkered tie. You can get the sleeveless look of Gabi’s character by cutting the sleeves off a standard polo. And if you can’t find the exact skirt Gabi uses in the movie, don’t be afraid to find the most colorful one you can and commit to it.
Dimitri from Anastasia
Dimitri (voiced by John Cusack) has spent his life running from the memories of what he saw as a child the night the Romanov family fell. He’s never seemed to settle, never really found his place. Not until he stumbles upon the real Anastasia, the girl he helped escape years ago. Only then do things seem to fall into place.
Dimitri has a few looks in the film but his most memorable is probably the first outfit we see him in as an adult. A off-white button-neck shirt and brown slacks are a common look for the time, as are the vest and brown shoes. But with his slick center-parted hair style, Dimitri gives the look a modern spin that makes for a great cosplay.
Mrs. Brisby from The Secret of NIMH
Mrs. Brisby (voiced by Elizabeth Hartman) is the main character of the children’s animated film The Secret of NIMH. In order to save her family, Mrs. Brisby must face her fears and work together with the unnaturally intelligent rats on her farm. Mrs. Brisby is a mouse, so the best way to recreate her character is to wear a mouse costume that suits your tastes, if wearing a false nose is uncomfortable, you could always paint your face instead. Then, wrap a red shawl around yourself and make sure to get your hands on a magical amulet that will help you save the day!
Mary Beth from The Book of Life
Sometimes a tour guide is just a tour guide. But sometimes she’s a little bit more. Sometimes she is Mary Beth, the narrator of the movie The Book of Life with an extra secret hidden up her sleeve.
Mary Beth’s costume is really straightforward, made of great foundational pieces that can be repurposed for other cosplays pretty easily. Best of all it’s comfortable enough to wear through a whole day at a convention. Just don’t go wearing it into any local museums and you should be fine.
All you need are blue heels, a blue cap, a blue blazer, a white skirt, a white shirt, and a white neckerchief. Finish it off with a long red wig and you’re ready to weave your own tale about The Book of Life.
Lou Strickland from Top Cat
Lou Strickland (voiced by Rob Schneider in the U.S. version of the film) is the new police chief and main antagonist of Top Cat: The Movie. Lou pursues Top Cat after TC steals his Lazlo-Lazlo concert tickets. Lou has ginger colored hair and a noticeably hairy mole on the point of his chin. He wears a red bow tie, green blazer, and brown pants pulled up very high on his waist.
