Paulina Sanchez from Danny Phantom
Paulina Sanchez (voiced by Maria Canals Barrera) is the egotistical and vain love interest in the show Danny Phantom. While Danny’s crush on Paulina eventually ends Paulina remains part of the core character group. She even helps the main trio now and then when they are in danger, showing a softer side that she usually keeps hidden.
Paulina is usually seen in the same outfit, though she occasionally appears wearing her cheerleader uniform. From day to day Paulina prefers to keep her hair down and pinned back with barrettes. She wears a pink crop top, capri pants, and white slip-on shoes. She is also meticulous about her hails and makeup, so be sure and do both to complete the costume!
Hera from Xena: Warrior Princess
Hera (portrayed by Meg Foster) is one of the primary antagonists in both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. Despite being the goddess of marriage she is unfortunately wed to the chronically unfaithful Zeus. Her anger with him leads her to attack his children by other women while exerting her influence over other areas of mortal life.
Dressing as Hera is fairly straightforward. She wears a lot of black while adopting iridescent tones in blues and greens because peacocks are sacred to Hera in both the shows and the original Greek myths. A full and shimmering black skirt, black heels, black cloak, and black corset make up the basis for her look. You will need to add the iridescent crystals by hand, unfortunately, since they are so placed in such a unique pattern. But once they’re on you can add in a feathered collar and shrug in either black or peacock colors and top with either of the tiaras that resemble the crowns she wears as Queen of Olympus.
Chloe Park from We Bare Bears
Chloe Park (voiced by Charlyne Yi) is a young girl attending college in the Cartoon Network show We Bare Bears. She went straight from the end of elementary school to university and is known as a child prodigy. After stumbling into the bears’ cave in search of information for a school project, she becomes a good friend of the three bears. Her clothes are very simple, given her age and her busy schedule. Her red slip on shoes match her glasses while she wears her brown pants cuffed and stays warm with a dark grey hoodie. Though she usually doesn’t take the hoodie off, she wears a purple shirt underneath and will sometimes carry a yellow backpack as well.
Barry Burton from Resident Evil
Barry Burton from the Resident Evil franchise has been handed down from voice actor to voice actor but he remains the character that so many fans know and love. He is a dedicated family man which guides his hand in everything he does. And while is passionate about bringing down the Umbrella Corporation and stopping bioterrorism, he will not sacrifice the people he loves to do it.
He is a former member of the US Air Force and a backup for the elite S.T.A.R.S. unit. His experience means that he approaches his work with a very pragmatic and critical eye. Work boots, sturdy jeans, and an easy-access chest holster mean that he can get in, get the job done, and get out without worrying about his clothes making that harder. His buzz cut and clean shave are holdovers from his time in the military. And though he is well-versed in many weapons, he prefers his trusty revolver.
Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Infinity War
Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) evolved so much over her arc within the MCU. She went from a jaded villain to a hero struggling to do what was right while trying to find herself at the same time. Her most iconic battlefield look was in Avengers: Infinity War when she faced off against Thanos’ forces and held her own against impossible odds. You can add your own mix of unique silver rings to the costume, but the red leather coat and corset paired with the tight black pants and heeled boots truly make this look.
Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War
Steve Rogers is best known as Captain America (Chris Evans), the first Avenger. But in Civil War, he breaks away from the rest of the team and takes a few allies with him. He spends much of the movie out of his uniform and in this casual but iconic look. A little hair gel keeps his hair in place while all the brown leather makes it clear he’s nobody to mess with, even without his shield.
Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Civil War
In Captain America: Civil War, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) was abducted and brainwashed by Hydra. For the last 70 years, he has been their mindless killing machine as the Winter Soldier, but now he’s free and finding himself again. While on the run, he stops in Romania and tries to make a normal life for himself. This includes wearing gloves to hide his prosthetic left hand and shopping for plums at the local farmer’s market. He wears layers in case he has to take off again, though the red Henley in this costume is his most iconic look from the movie. Grab your own bag of plums and stock your backpack with notebooks and candy bars for even more in-character costume details!
Graverobber from Repo! The Genetic Opera
Graverobber (Terrance Zdunich) is the resident Zydrate peddler and smirking narrator of Repo! The Genetic Opera. The world he lives in is a rough one, so the V in the neck of his overshirt will have to be cut a little lower. And he wears a thin blue scarf around his neck made from the torn hem of his undershirt. He also has pale skin and long hair streaked with a few different colors. He usually has Zydrate on him, but those little blue vials are awfully hard to come by.
Carol Danvers from Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is the human-Kree hybrid superhero known as Captain Marvel. She was a US Air Force test pilot before exposure to alien technology changed her DNA. Now she is a powerful superhero with a strong will, a confident personality, and a great sense of fashion. This movie-inspired look taps into ’90s grunge with a white Nine Inch Nails t-shirt, high waited jeans, and some great leather accessories.
Max Payne
Max Payne (voiced by James McCaffrey) is one of many hardboiled detectives in media today. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t stand out. His attitude, his way of doing things, and the gritty style of his games have made him a fan favorite for people the world over.
Cosplaying him is more about the attitude than the clothes. After all, it takes some real grit to pull off the ugliest paisley tie you can find, which seems to be his signature! Other than that tie, Payne is all about the basics. Functional black shoes and dark grey slacks pair with a white button up and dark brown leather jacket that’s more function than flash. And of course where would Payne be without his belt, holster, pistol, and badge?
