Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII
Cloud Strife is the main playable character in Final Fantasy VII and its remake. Cloud wields broadswords at his primary weapons, including the massive Buster Sword. Cloud’s appearance is similar between the two versions of the game, though more solidly black and streamlined in the 2020 remake. To recreate his look, you’ll need a sleeveless turtleneck, wide leg pants, and combat boots, not to mention his signature blond, spiky hair and larger-than-life sword.
Cornet Espoir from the Marl Kingdom Games
Cornet (voiced by Koaru Fujino in the original games and Sarah Thomas in the English dubs) is a sweet village girl with a gift for talking to puppets and making her wishes come true. She is the main character in the first Marl Kingdom game, “Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure”. By the time of the second game Cornet is Queen of Marl, leaving the adventures to her daughter.
Long before becoming queen of Marl, Cornet’s look matched her village girl life. A plaid bow in her hair matched her plaid skirt. A white turtleneck, blue vest, brown leggings, and tan boots finished off her look. She also accessorized with a simple necklace and earrings though you can leave those off or just add any you have at home. The finishing touch is a wavy honey blonde wig with bangs. Put it all together and you’re ready to have adventures of your own.
Ace Visconti from Dead by Daylight
Ace Visconti is a lucky gambler who always manages to make the most of a situation. Having grown up in Argentina, Ace was quick to take advantage of every opportunity. However, he eventually incurred a plethora of debts, but when his enemies came to collect, it was like Ace had vanished into thin air. Even when being hunted by killers in Dead by Daylight, Ace always has a smile on his face.
Remilia Scarlet from Touhou Project
Remilia Scarlet is the owner of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and is the primary antagonist of the sixth version of the Touhou Project game. The elder sister of Flandre Scarlet, Remilia has kept her sister imprisoned in the basement of her mansion for nearly 500 years. Remilia is a fearsome evil-doer with vast magical abilities. Her only weakness may be that her long lifetime has left her bored by most things, and she will allow herself to be manipulated if it means something more exciting than the alternative.
John Freeman from Half-Life: Full Life Consequences
John Freeman is a character created as part of a fanfiction story written for the Half-Life video game franchise. John is the brother of Gordon Freeman, the scientist players become when they play the game. The poorly written fic was given new life when it was adapted into a five-minute YouTube video. John’s character design is based on Citizen 07 from the original game, and he wears and fingerless gloves and a dark grey beanie paired with a grey vest and jeans.
Agent Pace from The Matrix Online
The agents of the Matrix, like Agent Smith, are not known for being unique. And that made Agent Pace all the more remarkable. She was programmed to emote. The beguile and disarm people in an age of Truce. And when that Truce ended, it made her all the more deadly.
Like the other agents, Agent Pace wears clothing similar to what most American federal agents are believed to wear. Some variations are black, others dark green. Here I have listed the black version of one of her outfits, including the black gloves and pistol she carries when she knows she will be in a fight.
Her usual outfit consists of a black blazer, white button down shirt, and black skirt. She wears either black or sheer hose and black shoes. In one incarnation her glasses are clear though her glasses later have dark lenses. And in true businesswoman fashion she wears her long hair swept back in a bun with the bangs styled off to the left. It’s not a look easily found premade on wigs but it can be reproduced with the wig listed above. Add in a simple gold necklace and you are ready to act as The Matrix’s newest liaison.
Dream!Sans from Undertale
Born from the Tree of Feelings, Dream!Sans contains all the happy energy in the universe. Every monster, human, plant, and animal’s happy feelings went into Dream’s creation. Twin to Nightmare!Sans, Dream is the peacekeeper, the light bringer. Created by Jokublog as part of an AU (alternate universe) to the game Undertale, Dream has since grown into a beloved character nearly as widespread as the original Sans himself.
Because Sans is a skeleton you have a few cosplay options. One is to use a bald cap and body makeup to achieve a similar look. A second option is making a Dream mask using a tutorial like this one. The best option is whichever you are most comfortable with.
Once you’ve chose the option you like best you will need the rest of the costume. A gold circlet is the main accessory, followed by a yellow cape and star pin. Dream wears a very simple circlet which isn’t easy to find. A simple gold crown comes close or you can make your own circlet using heavy gauge gold wire.
Finish the look with a blue tunic, yellow fingerless gloves, blue pants, a gold belt, and yellow boots.

Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village
Lady Alcina Dimitrescu has already taken the internet by storm. A beautiful vampire standing over nine feet tall with a killer smile, it’s easy to see why she caused a splash when she appeared in January’s Maiden. Her history is still largely unknown and will have to stay that way until Resident Evil: Village comes out this May. That hasn’t stopped fans from putting together cosplays in the Lady’s honor, our own among them!
While it is possible to use stilts to mimic the Lady’s height, it’s not recommended. Instead this cosplay focuses on Lady Dimitrescu’s style. A wide brimmed black hat, black leather gloves, black boots, and black flower pin all stand in sharp contrast to her flowing white empire waist gown. Her skin is also ghostly white which can be recreated using body paint. If you’d prefer to skip the body paint you can use a face painting kit to recreate the sharp lines and slightly undead look that gives away Lady Dimitrescu’s vampiric nature.
Finish the look with a dark brown wig. Lady Dimitrescu wears her hair pinned up in tight curls from the 1950s which you will have to recreate yourself. There are several tutorials on YouTube both on curling synthetic wigs and on recreating Dimitrescu’s look.
Be sure and put on your favorite red lipstick and you’re ready to rule a castle of your own.
