One look that would be great to recreate is from her album cover: The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. To create this look, start with a turquoise blue gown with one-shoulder. Attach various sizes of AB rhinestones or gemstones along the top and over the shoulder. Over this create the white sash by taking a blank white sash and attaching silver rhinestoned letters across it. You can also add rhinestones all over this. Wear your hair up with a small silver tiara. She also wears white gloves with rhinestones covering them. For makeup, use a white powder or foundation with pink blush, and a hint of yellow above that and purple eyeshadow. If you want to carry props, take a pink bouquet of faux flowers and a silver cup trophy.

Over this, wear a red square neck, fitted maxi-dress and add red rhinestones to the front with glue. Tease your hair and wear similar makeup with bright blues on the eyes, a bright pink blush, thin pencil eyebrows, a nude lined lip, and a beauty mark.

Another can be recreated with a blue velvet dress, a blue scarf, black sunglasses, the same black stockings, and black gloves.
Chappell Roan from Gov Ball 2024

One look that would be great to recreate is from one that has been taking the internet by storm: her Statue of Liberty look from Gov Ball. This costume is a little more work than others to create but can be done by an artist of any level. To create this look, we’ll start with the makeup. The exact foundation she used is linked, a green body foundation that should be mixed with white to get the lighter and more muted green color. This would be applied on the face, neck, ears, chest, back and arms. Also take green body glitter and apply at highlight points on your arms and chest. Chappell also applies the paint to her legs but if you’d like to make this more wearable, wear light green tights I’ve also linked. Over those you can wear green short bike shorts. For face makeup, use a dark green eyeshadow for contour and to add dimension back to the face. You could also add more white to the high points of your face. For eyes, darken your eyebrows with black or a very dark green. Also add silver face rhinestones over the highlights. Use silver, black, white, and deep green for the eyes. For the lips, wear a green lipstick and top with a metallic green gloss or even a metallic green eyeshadow. Paint your nails green or wear green acrylics.
For her Statue of Liberty headpiece, take a costume one as a base and glue on silver mirror tiles all over it. For the handheld torch prop, you can leave as is or cover in glitter with corresponding colors. To create her clothing: wear a light green tube top, green short bike shorts as mentioned earlier, and use a wide green waist belt as the base for the skirt. Cut strips of light and dark green faux leather or fabrics and attach silver snaps down each of them. Attach these around the wide waist belt, and this will act as the skirt. You can also do the same with the dark green strips on her shoulders, attaching it to the tube top with snaps. For her necklace, create it using any NYC themed charms and attaching them to a necklace.
Sabrina Carpenter from Espresso
Sabrina Carpenter has been going viral online for her new song and music video Espresso, and is making us so ready for summer.
Her vintage-inspired beach looks in the video can be easily recreated for your summer vacations and poolside outfits. Starting with her visor, take an orange retro style visor. You can create the graphic on it by using white acrylic paint on the top that reads ‘Espresso’. With this she wears her hair in 2 low pigtails, gold starfish earrings, and a blue gingham bikini with a bow on the top. Other looks in the video feature other accessories like pastel pink and yellow scarves, the yellow folded and tied as a wide headband and the pink covering her hair. She also wears a black bow headband and black vintage-style sunglasses with a black one-piece swimsuit. Finally, some other swimsuits she wears is a light blue one-piece that is a dress style and a hot pink bikini worn under a teal blue mini dress.
Glinda from Wicked (2024)
Musical and Broadway fans are reeling after the release of the new trailer for the film Wicked. The film is a screen adaptation of the broadway musical Wicked, which tells the story of the witches of Oz. This film will be in two parts and release separately, at different dates. As we await the first release, we get to analyze and enjoy the trailer and all of it’s impressive actors and of course, the costumes.
In this I’ll be covering how you can dress like or recreate the different looks of Glinda that we get glimpses of throughout the wicked trailers out now. For the look pictured, wear a delicate pink sheer blouse that is sleeveless and ruffled along with a pink midi skirt, vintage-style pink heels, and a pink crossbody purse. Another look is one that resembles a ballet outfit where she seems to be practicing some kind of jousting or fighting in a class with Elphaba. To dress like that wear a pink ballet leotard, a pink wrap ballet skirt, and tie your hair up with two pink bows. Another thing to add could be a pink coat dress over top. Lastly, we get to see bits and pieces of what seems to be her iconic ‘Popular’ number where she gives us kicks and dance, even hanging from a chandelier in a sheer tulle pink robe that is all the drama, just like herself.
Elphaba from Wicked (Glasses Look)

One look the internet is loving because of the glasses in particular, is this one that Elphaba wears as she seems to first arrive at Shiz University and meets Glinda. To dress like Elphaba here, wear these circle asymmetrical round glasses, black coat dress, black heeled boots, a micro twist wig if needed, and of course green face paint.
Chappell Roan at Coachella
Chappell Roan is a rising American pop star whose persona is inspired by camp and drag. Her 2023 album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, includes hits such as “Red Wine Supernova” and “HOT TO GO!” Her latest single, “Good Luck, Babe!” currently ranks at 46 on the Billboard Top 100 with over 100 million streams on Spotify. This guide presents an DIY approach for one of her Coachella outfits. Use the black fabric marker to write “EAT ME” on the bodysuit. See this guide for her look from NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and this guide for her look in the Pink Pony music video.
Billie Eilish from “Lunch”
In the music video for her latest single “Lunch”, Billie Eilish brings back the ’90s retro vibe — both with the low resolution in which it’s shot and the baggy street / skater fashion, topped off with a signature Air Jordan red cap and Supreme yellow pin-striped basketball jersey.
Backup Dancers from ‘I’m Just Ken’ Oscars Performance
This past weekend, the 2024 Oscars were more than memorable thanks to Ryan Gosling bringing the Kenergy to the awards with his explosive live performance of ‘I’m Just Ken.’ Although Barbie didn’t win best picture or director, Ryan truly made a lasting impression by flooding our screens and the stage with pink. He was accompanied by a large ensemble of Kens supporting him as background dancers. The look of the performance was inspired by the iconic scene featuring Marilyn Monroe’s ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’ from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Of course in this case, Ryan is the iconic blonde and the ensemble wear costumes inspired by the men in the ensemble from the film. Choosing this classic film as inspiration is also fitting as Greta Gerwig took a lot of inspiration from large sweeping sound-stage musicals from that time. The I’m Just Ken scene in Barbie is actually inspired by Singin’ in the Rain, from the dream ballet sequence with Cyd Charisse and Gene Kelly.
To dress like a backup dancer from this performance, wear a black tailcoat blazer, white pocket square, white vest, white shirt, white bow tie, black pants, pink socks, and black dress shoes. Pair this with a black cowboy hat and don’t forget to create the pink sash. This can be made by wearing a hot pink 3.5 inch wide sash and either gluing or sewing a 2 inch light pink ribbon down the center. The sash is worn over the white button down tux shirt, but under and tucked into the white vest. This would make for a great duo or group costume with your favorite Kens, and one of them being Ryan’s Ken in the all-pink suit.
