Run-D.M.C.

Formed in the 1980s, Run-D.M.C. is one of the most influential hip hop groups, being the first of the genre to earn a platinum release on their album. The rap group consists of Run, DMC, and Jam Master Jay who got the shaft when it came to naming the group.

Thriller Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson’s landmark music video, Thriller, is an epic 13-minute horror cinematic, directed by John Landis and starring a horde of zombies. Its 1983 release set a bar for music videos that has yet to be met.

M.C. Hammer

MC Hammer is the stage name of Stanley Burrell, an 80s hip hop artist known for his smash hits “U Can’t Touch This” and “2 Legit 2 Quit”, which feature his flashy dance moves and ultra baggy pants that came to be known simply as Hammer Pants.

Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper is a singer-songwriter who reached stardom with hit singles “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Time After Time”. Her dazzling colorful fashion, which ruled the MTV airwaves, is quintessential 80s style.

Beyonce Hold Up

From Beyonce’s epic album Lemonade, “Hold Up” is a single accompanied by a music video in which Beyonce goes ham on multiple cars and security cameras. She must have enjoyed making this video more than any other.

The Re-Animator

Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs), also known as the Re-Animator, is the villain of the cult classic 80s comedy-horror film “Re-Animator”, its sequels, and its 2011 stage musical, all based on HP Lovecraft’s short story “Herbert West–Reanimator”. He also was the subject in the Dynamite Comics series “Re-Animator” and even crossed paths with Ash Williams from Evil Dead in the Army of Darkness Vs Re-Animator comic series (An fun idea for a pair cosplay). Marshmello

Marshmello is an electronic dance music producer and DJ. Inspired by other masked DJs like Deadmau5 and Daft Punk, Marshmello appears wearing a full-head-covering marshmallow helmet.

2-D

Stuart Pot (also known as 2-D, Stu-Pot, or Pot) is the lead vocalist and pianist of Gorillaz. His bandmate Murdoc gave him the nickname 2D, which stands for the “Two Dents” in his head.

Weird Al Yankovic

Weird Al Yankovic is a singer-songwriter known for his silly parodies and pastiches, scoring hit singles like “Amish Paradise” and “White & Nerdy”. He’s also starred film and television with UHF and The Weird Al Show respectively. Put on the glasses and mustache for his 80s look.

Murdoc

In the virtual band Gorillaz created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, Murdoc Niccals is the fictional bassist and vocalist. He is the most responsible for forming Gorillaz, and for that he’s always angry that he’s not the frontman of the band.
