Tyler from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Tyler (portrayed by C. Thomas Howell) is a friend of Elliott‘s older brother Mike in Stephen Spielberg’s 1980s classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.  Tyler is at first a bit dismissive of E.T. and Elliott, but eventually helps them both escape authorities so E.T. can go home.  Tyler has wavy brown hair and wears light-wash jeans, a red t-shirt, black and white shoes, and a grey bomber jacket during the bicycle chase portion of the film.

Karl Havoc from I Think You Should Leave

This costume is from I Think You Should Leave, a sketch comedy show created by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin. Its third season recently debuted on Netflix. The concept of this sketch takes place behind the scenes of Everything Is Upside Down, a hidden camera prank show. The host, Carmine Laguzio, plans to wear a disguise (named Karl Havoc) to cause chaos at the mall. The heavy prosthetics become too uncomfortable, making the host to go from energetic to irritated to downright miserable.

Cowboy Ken from Barbie (2023)

Cowboy Ken is a supporting character in the hit 2023 movie Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig. He is one of the many Kens in Barbie Land. His partner Barbie is Physicist Barbie. His style is Western meets beach. He is portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa, who you may recognize as Eric Effiong from Sex Education and soon to be the 14th Doctor in Doctor Who. Roy Mustang

Roy Mustang is a character from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist. He is a State Alchemist and colonel in the military, making him the superior officer of protagonist Edward Elric. A known war hero, Colonel Mustang is remarkable in his command capabilities with plans to become leader. This costume guide offers both a DIY and ready-made option. Use the gold rope on the shoulder and affix the pin on front. Then line the jacket and wrist cuffs with the silver ribbon trim. A no-sew option could be metallic silver fabric paint, and using painter’s tape to achieve the straight lines. If you’d rather save some effort, you can purchase the ready-made costume with the jacket, pants, and gloves.

Alice is from the thriller/drama film Don’t Worry Darling, and is played by Florence Pugh. The story follows Alice, a housewife who lives with her partner Jack in the seemingly perfect community called Victory in the 1950s. Throughout the film she begins to discover dark secrets about her life at Victory and the people who live there.

Alice wears a variety of bright dresses and has a looked inspired by icons such as Brigitte Bardot, which you can see in her hairstyles. She often wears a black velvet bow that stands out against her light hair color and her dresses are typically a midi-length, perfect for the 50s and are mostly sleeveless.

Nausicaä from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaä (voiced by Sumi Shimamoto and Alison Lohman) is the titular protagonist of the Studio Ghibli film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.  Nausicaä is a princess who finds herself embroiled in war in a world of ecological disaster alongside Asbel.  Nausicaä has short red hair and wears primarily blue.  To recreate her look, you’ll need beige pants, brown shoes, blue leg warmers and gloves, and red teardrop earrings.  You can purchase a cosplay set that includes a hat, jacket, and belt, or assemble your own with pieces that look similar.  Her filtration mask can be difficult to find unless you are willing to pay a lot or make your own from scratch.  However, you can craft a reasonable facsimile with a respirator mask, dog ear headband, paint, and glue.  Cut the ears from the headband and glue them to the sides of the mask, using the wire inside to shape them accordingly.  Then, spray paint the entire thing brown.  Just make sure you leave yourself enough time for it to dry!

Momoko Akatsutsumi (voiced by Emiri Katou and Nicole Bouma) is the self-proclaimed leader of PowerPuff Girls Z in the anime series Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z.  Momoko’s alter ego is Hyper Blossom.  She has bangs and long hair that she wears in a high ponytail with a pink bow.  Her Hyper Blossom costume is mostly pink.  You can recreate her look with a pink dress or a skirt and blouse if you can’t find a dress that fits your needs.  If you’d like to add the navy details to the neck and hemline, use duct tape.  You’ll need to remove the sleeves from a pale pink and white letterman jacket; you can add the “P” by using iron-on letters.  Accessorize your costume with fingerless gloves, pink and white wristbands, a choker necklace, and earrings.  Lastly, don a pair of pink and white high tops and a white belt slung low on your hips.

Fleabag

‘Fleabag’ from the series Fleabag is created and played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Fleabag is adapted from what it originally was, a live one-woman show by Bridge. She then created a hilarious two-season series where we watch her navigate grief and life in London while she runs a guinea pig themed cafe on her own. In the second season, she focuses on her love interest, The Priest, played by the talented Andrew Scott. Fleabag has a completely unfiltered and hilarious personality.

This relatable character has a very distinct style that carries across both seasons. Her style is timeless and a little quirky with lots of black, white and pops of red. She wears stylish and simple jumpsuits in season two that are very recognizable of the character.

Steve Randle

Steve Randle is a character in The Outsiders. He is a Greaser who likes to comb his hair in swirls. His specialty is cars, so he works at the gas station with his best friend, Sodapop. Although unlike the naturally easygoing Sodapop, he is cocky and blunt. While Steve can come off as rude, he cares about his friends and fellow greasers. Tom Cruise portrays Steve in the 1983 movie adaptation.
