Joel Barish from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Jim Carrey plays the protagonist, Joel Barish, in the early 2000s romance fantasy/sci-fi film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Alongside his love interest, Clementine, we follow him through the story of their breakup. Clementine has a procedure to forget the relationship and Joel then decides to have the same one.
This would make a great couples costume for film lovers. To dress like Joel, wear a white shirt under a green sweater, paired with a black coat and green knit beanie.
The Roxbury Guys
Before the movie A Night at the Roxbury premiered, the Roxbury Guys were tearing up the dance floor on Saturday Night Live. While Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan played the brothers Steve and Doug Butabi, they were also often joined by other SNL cast members and hosts including Jim Carrey in one of the most iconic versions of the skit. To hang at the Roxbury, you need a fitted black t-shirt, thick silver chain, and an oversized two-piece suit (the shinier the better), not to mention plenty of hair gel to keep your strands in place while you bop along to “What is Love.”
Truman Burbank from The Truman Show
Truman Burbank played by Jim Carrey is a young insurance salesman living in the town of Seahaven where he was born and raised. Truman has been living a very average life. Such a normal life that he doesn’t realize the entire country has been watching him live it since he was born and that Seahaven is actually a movie set. All of his friends and loved ones are also paid actors. With his hopes to leave Seahaven and travel to Fiji the truth begins to unfold for Truman. This costume is casual and sort of a business type outfit. The look should be easy to put together and comfortable to wear all day.
Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik (played by Jim Carrey) is the main villain in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Dr. Robotnik undergoes a stark transformation during the course of the film, evolving from a far more normal looking man into the bald-headed, mustachioed villain who is well-recognized by fans of Sega. Dr. Robotnik’s costumes evolve from a plan black outfit, to a red and black uniform before Dr. Robotnik’s clothes (and sanity) are damaged during his final confrontation with Sonic.
Riddler
In the DC Comics, the Riddler (Jim Carrey), real name Edward Nigma, is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. The Riddler takes delight in incorporating riddles and puzzles into his criminal plots, often leaving them as clues for the authorities and Batman to solve.
The Grinch
In the classic Dr. Seuss book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, the Grinch is a green furry recluse who despises Christmas and plots to ruin the holiday for the people of Whoville. Will he succeed or perhaps have a change of heart?
Lloyd Christmas
In Dumb and Dumber, Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) is a limo driver with a bowl haircut and chipped tooth who dreams of opening a store that sells worm farms. We’re pretty sure he’s the dumber.
Ace Ventura
Ace Ventura may be solving pet related crimes but this detective is breaking more than one rule of fashion. Pairing Hawaiian shirts with striped or plaid pants, Ace’s look may seem unkempt but he balances it out with his finely styled hair.
Colonel Stars and Stripes
After barely escaping an ambush, mafioso Sal Bertolinni (Jim Carrey) decides to leave behind his life of crime in Kick-Ass 2. He becomes a born-again Christian and the masked vigilante known as Colonel Stars and Stripes.
