Victoria Page from The Red Shoes

Victoria Page is a character from the 1948 classic film The Red Shoes, and is played by Moira Shearer. The story comes from a folktale and published by Hans Christian Andersen. The film follows Victoria who is an aspiring ballerina who is faced with the choice of choosing between dance and the man she loves.

In the iconic ballet performance scene, she wears bright red ballet shoes that tie up with ribbon,  white tights, a blush or cream long tulle skirt, a leotard with appliqués and a blue bow in her hair. If you enjoy sewing and want to add the blue details to her top, sew or attach a blue ruffle/pleated trim along the edge that matches her hair bow.

PJ from Bottoms

PJ is a character from the film Bottoms, and is played by Rachel Sennott. Bottoms follows PJ and her best friend Josie who are seniors at Rock Ridge High School. They create a fight club together at their school to get the attention of her crush Brittany.

PJ has a big personality compared to Josie and this reflects into her costumes. While Josie sticks to cool colors, PJ wears warm ones with lots of red. One recognizable costume is her red rugby s oversized shirt that would make a great duo/matching costume with Josie in the scene that wears a blue one. Add a bandage to your nose and makeup to create a bruised eye to complete the look. Another look is this bold and colorful outfit with a multicolored striped shirt, black suspenders, and brown corduroy pants.

Amos from Theater Camp

Amos is a character from the film Theater Camp and is played by Ben Platt. The film follows Amos and Rebecca-Diane who have to join forces with other teachers in an upstate New York theater camp after the founder falls into a coma. These eccentric characters have to work together to keep the place running before opening night.

Amos has a distinct style, often wearing a striped button down shirt worn over a graphic or solid to shirt. He also wears a brown necklace and joggers/ drawstring pants.

Orin Scrivello, DDS from Little Shop of Horrors

Orin Scrivello, DDS is from the musical film Little Shop of Horrors and is played by Steve Martin. The film follows Seymour Krelborn who works in a flower shop and discovers an unusual plant that he names Audrey II, that feeds only on humans and blood. Orin Scrivello is one of the villains in the film and is Audrey’s boyfriend. He is an evil dentist that is eventually fed to Audrey II by Seymour.

Orin’s look and character is inspired by Elvis Presley and features a black leather jacket when he is out of work, and as a dentist he wears a white shirt and black apron.

Zeffirelli from The French Dispatch

Zeffirelli is a character from the Wes Anderson film The French Dispatch, and is played by Timothee Chalamet. Zeffirelli is one of the highlighted characters in the film and is a student revolutionary and boyfriend of Juliette, who is also a leader in the student protests. He wears a gray wool/tweed two-piece suit with a black shirt, gray polo underneath, and black shoes.

Amy Antsler from Booksmart

Amy Antsler is from the movie Booksmart, and is played by Kaitlyn Dever. Amy is one of the two protagonists of the film, the other being Molly Davidson, her best friend. This comedy takes place at the end of their senior year, where they attempt to experience things they haven’t in school like partying, but all in one night before graduation.

Amy wears lots of layers in her outfits that really show us her personality. She wears lots of blues and reds, with pieces that have an outdoor-sy and western influence like her shirt, the red button down, denim jacket, and bolo tie. She also wears matching blue coveralls at one point in the movie on one of the adventures she goes on with Molly.

Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors

Audrey is a character from the 1986 musical film Little Shop of Horrors, and is played by Ellen Greene. The film follows Seymour Krelborn who works in a flower shop and discovers an unusual plant that he names Audrey II, that feeds only on humans and blood. Audrey is the love interest to Seymour in the story and is the girlfriend of a dentist, Orin Scrivello DDS.

Audrey’s most iconic costume from the film features a cheetah print dress, black heels and a light blue eyeshadow. Add a blonde short wig and an Audrey II plant prop to complete the costume.

Lorna from Over the Garden Wall

Lorna is a character from the animated series Over the Garden Wall and is voiced by Shannyn Sossamon. Over the Garden Wall follows brothers Wirt and Greg as they travel to the Unknown and encounter many strange things and characters along the way. Lorna is a teen girl who is sick and cared for by her adoptive aunt, Auntie Whispers. Wirt and Greg meet her in episode seven of the series.

Lorna wears a white bonnet, a white apron, and a green skirt that matches the green lace trim that can be added to her deep teal shirt or sweater.

Sherri Ann Cabot from Best in Show

Sherri Ann Cabot is from the comedy mockumentary called Best in Show. Best in Show is about the people behind the world of dog shows, the dog owners. This hilarious movie introduces us to five competitors and their dogs and we follow them as they prepare and attend a prestigious dog show. Each have very distinct personalities, not only in how they compete but also we can see it clearly in their costumes. One of these characters is Sherri, who along with Christy is entering her poodle named Rhapsody in White (aka Butch) into the competition.

Sherri is a prefect of example of owners resembling their dogs. She wears lots of white and white fur pieces that match perfectly with her dog. Other colors she wears are purple and pink jackets and shirts, and even an animal print vest.

Hank from Swiss Army Man

Hank is from the movie Swiss Army Man by The Daniels, and is played by Paul Dano. Hank is a man that has been stranded on a deserted island and runs into Manny, an animated corpse that helps him find the motivation to survive. Hank teaches Manny how to be a person again and through it, questions his old ways and learns about himself.

Hank wears warm tones in comparison to Manny, who wears cool ones. He wears lots of red like his red flannel and red jacket. He of course is also very dirty and his clothes are worn from being on this island. This can be replicated with any kind of brown acrylic or fabric paint to add to the clothes to make them look distressed.
