Mei Hatsume from My Hero Academia

Mei (voiced in Japanese by Shiori Sakurai and in English by Alexis Tipton) is one of the supporting characters in the anime/manga My Hero Academia.

She is part of the Support class at U.A. High School, and is very enthusiastic about creating more support items to help her schoolmates, even to the point where she essentially took over Power Loader’s entire lab with her creations.

Mei has golden eyes with targeting reticles in them to aid in the zoom of her quirk, and salmon pink hair worn in thick dreads, often topped by an elaborate goggle headset for labwork. For this outfit, she wears a black ribbed thick-strap tanktop, a pair of black coveralls that are worn half-off and tied around her waist, black ribbed socks, white slip on shoes, and metal-working gloves to finish it all off.

Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob SquarePants

Sandy Cheeks (voiced by Carolyn Lawrence) is a squirrel who lives underwater in the cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants.  Sandy is a scientist who created her underwater suit and air dome so she can survive in Bikini Bottom.  She is close friends with both SpongeBob and Patrick Star.  In order to survive underwater, Sandy must wear a special suit so she can breathe.  The suit is white with grey boots and includes a domed helmet.  To recreate her look, you can dress mostly as an astronaut and then add a pair of animal ears and a squirrel tail.  Put a pink flower decal on your helmet to finish the costume.  If you’re looking for something a little easier to move in, you could also dress the way Sandy does in her air dome.  Just add a purple ruffle skirt and strapless top over a squirrel onesie for a fun twist on her appearance from the show.

Koala Man

Koala Man

In an alternate universe called Bushworld where Australia is the world’s superpower and Nicole Kidman its queen, Koala Man (voiced by Michael Cusack) is the alter-ego of Kevin Williams, a middle-aged IT worker who decides to go vigilante. With absolutely no superpowers and a middling costume, he battles evildoers in his town of Dapto.

Roy Mustang

Roy Mustang is a character from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist. He is a State Alchemist and colonel in the military, making him the superior officer of protagonist Edward Elric. A known war hero, Colonel Mustang is remarkable in his command capabilities with plans to become leader. This costume guide offers both a DIY and ready-made option. Use the gold rope on the shoulder and affix the pin on front. Then line the jacket and wrist cuffs with the silver ribbon trim. A no-sew option could be metallic silver fabric paint, and using painter’s tape to achieve the straight lines. If you’d rather save some effort, you can purchase the ready-made costume with the jacket, pants, and gloves.

nausicaa from nausicaa of the valley of the wind

Nausicaä from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaä (voiced by Sumi Shimamoto and Alison Lohman) is the titular protagonist of the Studio Ghibli film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.  Nausicaä is a princess who finds herself embroiled in war in a world of ecological disaster alongside Asbel.  Nausicaä has short red hair and wears primarily blue.  To recreate her look, you’ll need beige pants, brown shoes, blue leg warmers and gloves, and red teardrop earrings.  You can purchase a cosplay set that includes a hat, jacket, and belt, or assemble your own with pieces that look similar.  Her filtration mask can be difficult to find unless you are willing to pay a lot or make your own from scratch.  However, you can craft a reasonable facsimile with a respirator mask, dog ear headband, paint, and glue.  Cut the ears from the headband and glue them to the sides of the mask, using the wire inside to shape them accordingly.  Then, spray paint the entire thing brown.  Just make sure you leave yourself enough time for it to dry!

Momoko Akatsutsumi from Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z

Momoko Akatsutsumi from Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z

Momoko Akatsutsumi (voiced by Emiri Katou and Nicole Bouma) is the self-proclaimed leader of PowerPuff Girls Z in the anime series Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z.  Momoko’s alter ego is Hyper Blossom.  She has bangs and long hair that she wears in a high ponytail with a pink bow.  Her Hyper Blossom costume is mostly pink.  You can recreate her look with a pink dress or a skirt and blouse if you can’t find a dress that fits your needs.  If you’d like to add the navy details to the neck and hemline, use duct tape.  You’ll need to remove the sleeves from a pale pink and white letterman jacket; you can add the “P” by using iron-on letters.  Accessorize your costume with fingerless gloves, pink and white wristbands, a choker necklace, and earrings.  Lastly, don a pair of pink and white high tops and a white belt slung low on your hips.

Ferid Bathory from Owari no Seraph/Seraph of the End

Ferid (voiced in Japanese by Takahiro Sakurai and in English by Eric Vale) is one of the main vampire antagonists in the anime/manga Owari no Seraph/Seraph of the End.

Ferid has long lavender-grey hair that he wears tied back with a large black bow, red eyes, vampire fangs, and pointed ears.
