Played by comedian Janelle James, Ava is the principal of Abbott Elementary – a role she got by blackmailing the superintendent. High-maintenance yet hilarious, Ava is a chaotic force among the teachers who take their job seriously. She displays multiple instances of vanity, using school funds for trips and beauty. She often makes fun of Janine and Jacob. Even though she’s bad at her job, she has grown to love it and has shown interest in learning how to be a better principal.
Jeff the Land Shark from Marvel Rivals
Jeff the Land Shark is one of the lesser-known characters to be featured in Marvel Rivals, fighting alongside the likes of Thor, Wolverine, and The Incredible Hulk, but he’s quickly become a fan favorite. Despite his rows of razor sharp teeth, Jeffrey is an adorable landshark that brings joy and healing to the battlefield.
Kirie Goshima from Uzumaki
Kirie Goshima is the protagonist/narrator of Uzumaki, the horror manga novel by Junji Ito. She is a student and resident of Kurozu-Cho, the town cursed by spirals. Kirie is a recurring target of the spirals, such as when her hair curls into spirals. Her friend and eventual boyfriend, Shuichi Saito, often rescues Kirie from these attacks. In the end, the two find the City of Spirals underneath the town, and they become intertwined together forever. Uzumaki received a 2024 anime adaptation on Adult Swim, now streaming on Hulu. Shuichi Saito from Uzumaki
Shuichi Saito is a major character in Uzumaki, the horror manga novel by Junji Ito. He is a resident of Kurozu-Cho, the city cursed by spirals. Shuichi is the first person to catch on to the curse, because he has the ability to sense spirals. The chain of events begin when his father becomes obsessed with spirals. Upon his father’s death, his mother becomes terrified of spirals, leading to her death and leaving Shuichi an orphan. He often saves his friend and eventual girlfriend, Kirie Goshima, from the curse. Anya from Mouthwashing
Anya is the medic aboard the ill-fated Tulpar spaceship in the horror game Mouthwashing. She has a difficult time taking care of Curly after he is disfigured in the crash which damages the Tulpar and puts the remaining crew in peril. Anya has dark hair which she wears in a shag. She also wears a blue jumpsuit, white socks, and brown sandals. Add a medical sticker to the front of your jumpsuit so everyone knows your role.
Teen from Agatha All Along
Teen is a major character in Agatha All Along. Played by Joe Locke, he is referred to as Teen due to a sigil preventing him from revealing any identifying information. He finds Agatha in Westview to help her break free from Wanda’s spell. His deep interest in witchcraft makes him revere Agatha and ask to go down the Witches Road. From then on, the Teen acts as a “familiar” – an assistant to Agatha’s coven. When his powers manifest, he’s revealed to be Billy Kaplan, who died in a car accident and obtained the soul of Billy Maximoff – the son of Wanda and Vision.
Riley Andersen from Inside Out 2
Riley Andersen is the main character in Inside Out 2. In the sequel, Riley is now a teenager and attending high school. All the emotions – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger – still live up in her mind. However, going through puberty means new emotions – Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui – show up uninvited to headquarters. Though perhaps she’s still a tad young for Nostalgia. When Riley and her best friends are invited to a weekend ice hockey camp, she hopes to quality for the team. This pressure, plus the information that her best friends will be attending a different school, causes her emotions to clash.
June Way from Unicorn: Warriors Eternal
June Way (voiced by Grey DeLisle) is a character from the adult animation series Unicorn: Warriors Eternal. June has battled against many versions of the Order of Unicorn by harnessing energy from the Evil. She is a nine-tailed fox who sometimes appears as an anthropomorphic fox in green and white Victorian garb. To create your costume, you’ll need to choose an era appropriate dress. If you can’t find an exact match, look for similar silhouettes and shades of green. You can even layer a high necked blouse under a dress if it doesn’t have the right neckline. Then, add a pink broach, white opera gloves, and white tights with green heels. Finish the look with a fox mask and a wide brimmed hat. You can add a headband with fox ears over the hat so it looks like June’s ears, which protrude through her hat on the show.
Curly from Mouthwashing
Curly is the captain of the Tulpar spaceship in the horror game Mouthwashing. After the craft crashes, Curly is horribly injured and spends the rest of his time aboard in the medical bay being treated unsuccessfully for pain by medic Anya and Jimmy, his second in command. Following the crash, Curly loses his feet and hands and his body is heavily bandaged with bloody strips of gauze. He also wears a blue hospital gown. To create your costume, start with a muscle printed bodysuit to get the look of Curley’s damaged skin and layer a blue hospital gown over top. Then, wrap your arms and legs in gauze and use fake blood to stain the bandages. You can use fabric glue to make sure the gauze strips stay in place, especially over your face.
Sailor Tin Nyanko from Sailor Moon
In Sailor Moon, Sailor Tin Nyanko is one of the Sailor Animamates. She wears a shiny black top with matching skirt, long gloves, tall boots, and a long black cat tail. Her choker and top are adorned with jingle bells, fitting since her last name Suzu translates to “little bells”. Like the other Animamates, she wears Galactica bracelets.
