Katie Mitchell (voiced by Abbi Jacobson) is the main protagonist of the Sony Pictures Animation film The Mitchells vs. the Machines.  Katie is quirky and creative, and a film student in college.  Katie wears distressed jeans and shoes embellished with markered details.  To have some fun with her look, be sure to add little details to your own clothes (and hands!) like Katie does in the movie.

Gabriela “Gabi” Hernández (voiced by Ynairaly Simo) is the the 10-year-old deuteragonist of the animated film Vivo.  Vivo, the titular monkey, enlists Gabi to help him deliver a song to a famous singer at her farewell show.  Gabi has purple and a colorful sense of style, with a colorful plaid skirt an bright pink collared shirt paired with a checkered tie.  You can get the sleeveless look of Gabi’s character by cutting the sleeves off a standard polo.  And if you can’t find the exact skirt Gabi uses in the movie, don’t be afraid to find the most colorful one you can and commit to it.

Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) is a character in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn. He served as a colonel in the U.S. Army as well as a special operations forces specialist. In the first Suicide Squad (2016), he led Task Force X and a team of Navy Seals to defeat Enchantress. His success allowed him to continue in the leadership position with a new team. Five years later, their mission is to go to Corto Moltese to destroy Jotunheim, and then execute Project Starfish. However, this was actually a cover-up for a government mistake. Peacemaker was a spy on the inside, and he murders Flag in attempt to complete the mission.

In Army of the Dead and the prequel Army of Thieves, Ludwig Dieter (played by Matthias Schweighöfer) is a German safecracker who acts nervous but has unmatched skills. He’s hired to recover $200 million in Las Vegas, which at this point is overrun with zombies. Ludwig’s original name is Sebastian Schlencht-Wöhnert, but as a child he drew a comic book about a world-class safecracker named Ludwig Dieter, and eventually adopted the name for himself. Besides the clothing and Casio calculator watch, make sure you style your hair to match his curly golden locks.

Penny (Miley Cyrus) might have only played Bolt’s partner on TV but the love between the two is very real. And though Penny faces danger Bolt doesn’t expect, their bond saves them both in the end.

Penny has a few looks in the movie but one of her most notable is the layered look featuring black and white striped tights. They pair well with black shorts and shoes, a black long sleeve shirt, and a red t-shirt. These are all pieces that can transition into other cosplays as well as play a role in your day to day closet, making Penny a great closet cosplay. The one piece that is specific to the cosplay is the auburn wig. It matches a few other costumes, however, and if you’d prefer to style your own hair, you can leave it off altogether.

There is no official actress for Rowena Ravenclaw as the founder died long before Harry Potter attended Hogwarts. And while there are descriptions in the book, cosplaying as Rowena still leaves lots of room for personal interpretation. The one thing you don’t want to forget, however, is her diadem.

For this version you’ll need a long auburn wig, a blue gown, matching blue slippers, a wand, and a leather journal with a blue stone. An eagle necklace rounds out the bewitching look.

In Raiders of the Lost Ark, Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) is a gritty bar owner living in Nepal. Her father was a professor of archaeology who mentored a young Indiana Jones and was obsessed with finding the Ark of the Covenant. When her bar in Nepal burns down, Marion reluctantly helps Indiana Jones in recovering the Ark, eventually falling for him. She later returns to the series in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, where it’s revealed Indy fathered a child, Mutt Williams, with her.

Hannah Marie is a character in the Scary Godmother books and movies. The children’s books were written and illustrated by Jill Thompson. Hannah is the protagonist of the series. On Halloween, her older cousin, Jimmy, takes her trick-or-treating. Yet Jimmy plays a mean prank and locks her in a haunted house. As Hannah begins to cry, Scary Godmother comes to comfort her. She invites Hannah to Frightside, an alternate dimension fueled by Halloween magic. At first, she’s scared of the monsters, but she quickly befriends them. Hannah becomes particularly close to Scary Godmother, Bugaboo, and Orson. While also sweet-natured and friendly, Hannah grows into a brave, assertive, and admirable character.
