mysterio far from home character

Mysterio from Spider-Man: Far From Home

Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, is the main antagonist in the live action Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home. His power involves creating elaborate illusions that frame him as an admirable superhero. His goal is to obtain E.D.I.T.H, the artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark, to increase the scale of his illusions. He accomplishes this by tricking Peter Parker, preying on his grief to earn his trust. In the mid-credits scene, as Mysterio is dying, he reveals Spider-Man’s identity to the world. Use the silver spray paint on the globe to make his helmet.

Marla Singer from Fight Club

Marla Singer (played by Helena Bonham Carter) is the main female protagonist in Fight Club. Marla has a death wish and carries an apathetic attitude. She makes some cash from stealing clothes from laundry mats and selling them off. She gets a free cup of coffee by going to various support group meetings that have no relation to anything she herself may be going through. She is promiscuous and sleeps with The Narrator’s roommate, Tyler Durden, after getting The Narrator’s number originally. Marla is a strong spirited person despite her struggles with mental illness and addiction. She does not care what others think of her and does what she wants when she wants.

This costume is relatively easy to put together. First get your hair messy with the got2b beach matte paste and put a section of it up with a scrunchie. Then apply the nyx black eyeshadow base and after that the shadow. It can be applied pretty messy with one eye shadow brush and a bit of smudging with your fingers. After putting on the cami and the skirt and you get to the cardigan use however many brooches you would like to close it. You can style them like buttons down the cardigan. I suggest using at least 3. Marla has her’s buttoned from top to bottom with bottom part open. Finally, finish putting on the rest of the outfit and apply lip gloss. This costume works well for either Halloween or cosplay events.

stoick the vast from how to train your dragon

Stoick the Vast from How to Train Your Dragon

Stoick the Vast (voiced by Gerard Butler) is the leader of the Vikings and father to Hiccup in the How to Train Your Dragon series.  Stoick is tough and strong, which is clear just from looking at him.  With a fierce red beard and Scottish brogue to match, Stoick is a fighter who loves his son, even though they often disagree.

Nakia from Black Panther

Nakia from Black Panther

Nakia (played by the fantastic Lupita Nyong’o) is one of Wakanda’s best spies in Black Panther. She regularly leaves Wakanda to help others and to ensure that the country she loves remains safe. When Wakandan civil war breaks out she is quick to defend her king and the beliefs they share. And though she tells Okoye she is not a general, her strength and compassion clearly rally those around her!

Nakia’s most memorable costume – the one she wears in the final battle of the Wakandan civil war – is gorgeously ornate. It’s not an easy look to recreate but you can get close with this premade dress costume. Add black leggings and boots under that for a battle-ready look. Of course Nakia joins the battle fully prepared! She carries two ring blades or chakrams. You might not have access to Shuri’s tech but embedded LED lights in the props pictures above get you close! Add to that a Dora Milaje spear and a vibranium bracelet and you’re ready for battle too!

mad hatter alice in wonderland character

Mad Hatter

The Mad Hatter is a supporting character in Alice In Wonderland. He appears in both Lewis Carroll’s book and the Disney animated movie. In Tim Burton’s adaptation, he is portrayed by Johnny Depp. He hosts a tea party with the March Hare. When Alice arrives at the tea party, he asks the riddle: “Why is a raven like a writing desk?” To this day, no one knows the true answer. He also likes to pull various objects out of his hat. His personality is silly, flippant, and of course,”mad.”

Jason Voorhees from Freddy VS Jason

Jason Voorhees from Freddy vs. Jason

Jason Voorhees in Freddy vs. Jason (played by Ken Kirzinger) is one of the two titular characters. Just don’t expect a lot of lines out of him. He’s as silent as Freddy Krueger is chatty, after all. And once Freddy brings him back from the dead and sets him loose on Springwood. Of course the two can’t work together for long before they’re at war with one another leaving the original victims caught in the middle.

The important thing to know about Jason’s look is that you’re going to have to rip, stain, and distress anything he wears. This is why a more generic work jacket is listed above instead of what was used in production which is very likely a Carhartt. Under the jacket Jason wears a brown button up, torn at the collar, and a black t-shirt. He also wears black pants and boots.

Jason has been dead a while which is a hard look to recreate without some serious prosthetics. You can recreate the look, though, with black gloves and a black hood mask as well as black SFX paint to streak your neck with and use behind the eye holes of his trademark mask.

After that all you need are his hockey mask and his machete and you’re just as terrifying as Jason himself!

Wyborn from Coraline

Wyborn “Wybie” Lovat is a geeky, charmingly peculiar, awkward kid. He lives with his grandmother, who owns the Pink Palace Apartments. Wybie knows something unusual is going on at the apartment. His family holds the secret to the strange events at the building. Wybie helps solve his family mystery in Coraline.

Red Skull from Marvel Comics

Red Skull

Red Skull (portrayed by Hugo Weaving in the MCU) was the first recipient of the serum that eventually turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. It – for better or worse – did not have the same effect on Johann Schmidt. Instead of great strength and agility he was reduced to a blood-red near-skeleton ever in search of power he cannot hope to control.

Cosplaying as the Red Skull takes a bit of work because getting the skeleton-like look is not easy. Start with a bald cap and some red SFX paint. Red gloves will cover your hands and a little bit of standard makeup can finish the look. Then add on a long black military-style coat, bloused pants, and black boots. Finally around out the costume with a Hydra belt buckle, a World War Two pistol, and a tesseract!
