Carbon Costume

Glep is a character in the Adult Swim cartoon Smiling Friends, now streaming on HBO Max. He is a miniature green critter who wears a purple wizard hat. He works at Smiling Friends though it’s unclear what his job is. Most times, Glep is sitting in a bean bag chair watching a video on his tablet. He speaks Gibberish. When auditioning for the role of Mr. Frog, his punchline was spitting afterward.

Gus is one of the main characters from the Netflix series Sweet Tooth, and is played by Christian Convery. Sweet Tooth follows Gus who is a boy that is half human and half deer as he travels through a post-apocalyptic world with help from a man named Tommy.

To dress like Gus, wear a red flannel under an orange puffer vest. Over that wear a nylon belt around the waist and attach a woven pouch to it on one side. Pair with blue jeans that you can distress with things like brown paint and sand paper or scissors to break it down. You can also cut out various shades of denim swatches and glue or sew them on the jeans. Over the jeans wear a rope belt, and additionally you can tie yellow embroidery floss around it to be even more accurate. Finally, wear black boots and of course deer antlers.

In this I’ll be covering how you can create a costume after the doll Melody. Melody was a doll released more recently-in 2016 but is still in the historic line. Her story takes place in the 1960s. To dress like Melody, wear a green patterned dress, teal blue sunglasses and shoes, white frilly socks, and a teal blue handbag. Add teal blue ribbon to the dress and your hair, or wear a teal pillbox hat.

For instance, he goes on an adventure to get paper clips. Uptight and deadpan, he’s een as the “neat-freak,” namely obsessing over his missing cheese. Allan sometimes exaggerates certain words with a nasally inflection.

Under this wear a white petticoat and white bloomers with a lace trim at the hem. Over this wear a red gingham apron and gold heart locket necklace. Pair with yellow and white striped socks and brown boots. Braid your hair in two braids then time with elastics back on the base of the braid. Cover that area with blue ribbons and wear a red gingham bonnet.

Curly Brace (voiced by Chihiro Yamamoto) is a character from the Cave Story game.  Like Quote, she is a robot with green antennae at the side of her head.  She has an automatic shield that activates when missile weapons target her, and she can wield a number of weapons.  Curly has long blonde hair and wears an orange crop top, orange cargo pants, and brown booties.  You can add an orange waist satchel to your outfit and cut the wire from a pair of bright green headphones to emulate the look of her green ears.

Cameron (voiced by Kevin Duhaney) is a character from the Cartoon Network Total Drama franchise.  He appears in Total Drama: Revenge of the Island as a member of Mutant Maggots alongside Jo, Mike, Zoey, Brick, and Anna Maria.  He appears again in Total Drama All Stars.  Much like Cody, Cameron is very smart but physically weaker than many other competitors.  Cameron has short cropped hair and wears a red pullover hoodie, yellow shorts, and orange sneakers, with striped tube socks.  He also wears black framed glasses.

Hector Rodrigo Casagrande Gutiérrez (voiced by Ruben Garfias) is a supporting character in the animated series The Casagrandes.  He is the husband of Rosa and the father of Maria.  Hector owns a bodega and enjoys letting Bobby work at it, though he can sometimes be overprotecting of his grandchildren.  Hector is balding with a bushy grey mustache.  He wears dark green pants, a pale yellow shirt, and black shoes.  He also wears a mustard colored sweater with yellow circles on the elbows, which you can add to your costume with iron-on patches.

Jared is a character from the movie Booksmart, and is played by Skyler Gisondo. The comedy film follows best friends Amy and Molly at the end of their senior year, where they attempt to experience things they haven’t in school like partying, but all in one night before graduation. Jared is an outgoing character in the film that we learn is a student just desperate for approval, but all in all we learn to find him endearing in the end.

To dress like Jared, either wear a pre-printed Jared shirt just like this hilarious one in the movie, or make one of yourself using a white blank tee and transfer printer paper. Under the white tee, wear a black collared striped shirt, and over the top wear a maroon bomber jacket. Pair with two sizes of gold chains and a red key clip on your jeans.

To dress like Tommy, wear a brown trench coat over a red zip-up hoodie and a white t-shirt. Pair this with dark khaki cargo pants and black hiking boots. To take the look even further add on a backpack and distress the costume using deep brown paints.
