M3gan

M3gan (voiced by Jenna Davis) is the titular life-like doll at the heart of horror film M3GAN. Created by robotics engineer Gemma as a companion for a young girl named Cady, M3gan soon begins to take on a terrifying life of her own.  To recreate M3gan’s look, you’ll need to embrace the deceptively innocent children’s doll appearance with white tights, black mary janes shoes, and a collared dress.  If you want to take the toy-like aesthetic a step further, try using a doll makeup tutorial to help capture M3gan’s wide-eyed appearance.

Madame Red from Kuroshitsuji

Angelina Dalles, more commonly known as Madame Red (voiced in Japanese by Romi Park and in English by Lydia Mackay) is Ciel Phantomhive’s Aunt in the anime/manga Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler.

She has a lot of past trauma from familial death and her inability to have children, and this drove her to become (along with Grelle) Jack the Ripper, which sadly ends with Grelle using her chainsaw death scythe on her.

Her whole appearance is red themed, with bright red hair, eyes, and matching lipstick. She wears a long red ruffle flared skirt, a white button up shirt with a white cravat tie, a red vest over top, and beautifully detailed red boots. Over top of this she wears a long red coat, that Grelle eventually ends up wearing as part of her outfit, after Angelina’s death.

Frankie Stein

Frankie Stein is a character in the Monster High franchise. They are the child of Frankenstein’s monster. Comprised of the body parts of geniuses, they are extremely intelligent. With dolls, cartoons, and a live action movie, Frankie has many different styles. Therefore, our costume guide features a variety of pieces to assemble a unique outfit. Plaid fabric attests to a nerdy, yet preppy look. A studded belt adds punk flair. The color palette consists of black, white, and blue; the new generation features neon tones as well. Add neck bolts and stitches and you’ll be too ghoul for school.

Principal Weems from Wednesday

Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendolyn Christie) is a character in the Netflix show, Wednesday. She is the principal of Nevermore Academy as well as a former student, who was roommates with Morticia Addams. Strict and proper, Principal Williams becomes increasingly frustrated with Wednesday, who refuses to follow the rules and seems to always cause mischief.

Marilyn Thornhill from Wednesday

Ms. Marilyn Thornhill is a character in the Netflix show, Wednesday. She is the first “Normie” on the teaching staff at Nevermore Academy. She teaches botany, specifically carnivorous plants. She is the dorm mom of the Ophelia Dorm, where Wednesday and Enid reside. You may recognize this actress too: It’s none other than, Christina Ricci, who portrayed Wednesday in The Addams Family movies from the 90s.

Clawdeen Wolf

Clawdeen Wolf is a character from the Monster High franchise. She is a werewolf who attends Monster High with her brother, Claude, and her BFF Draculaura. She is loyal, confident, and energetic with a knack for sports. With dolls, cartoons, and a live action movie, Clawdeen has many different styles. Therefore, our costume guide features a variety of pieces to assemble a unique outfit. Her main color is purple, and her aesthetic is glam and fierce. Faux fur and animal print are must haves for any look.

sarah from the last of us

Sarah from The Last of Us (HBO)

Sarah Miller (played by Nico Parker) is Joel‘s daughter in the HBO video game adaptation The Last of Us.  Sarah is kind and generous, teasing her father on his birthday while making him breakfast and taking time to have his watch repaired as a gift.  Unfortunately, Sarah meets an untimely demise at the very beginning of the pandemic which sets the series in motion.  Sarah wears pale jeans with some doodled decorations on the right leg, but the defining aspect of her outfit is her Halican Drops t-shirt.  She also uses a purple backpack and wears a few adjustable bracelets on her left wrist, as well as a shark tooth necklace.

Meirin from Kuroshitsuji

Meirin (voiced in Japanese by Emiri Katou and in English by Monica Rial) is part of the housekeeping and defense staff in the anime/manga Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler.

After spending the early years of her life as an assassin, she gets taken in by Sebastian after trying to attack Ciel, but ends up being hired on as the family’s maid and defensive sniper. She is often a clumsy maid when tasked with the duties she’s formally hired as, but is a very sharp-sighted sniper when she takes off her glasses.

She has pinkish-red hair usually worn up in pigtails and topped with a maid’s headband, and has hazel eyes that are usually hidden behind the round-rimmed glasses she was gifted upon joining the staff team at the manor. Meirin’s usual outfit is standard maid-wear with a black dress and white apron combo, but the way Nina Hopkins crafted her outfit, it allows her to pin up the skirt to the apron buttons, to expose her sock gartered leg and long black lace up workboots.

Nagisa Momoe from Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Nagisa (voiced in Japanese by Kana Asumi and in English by Xanthe Huynh) is a secondary main character in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series. For this piece I’ve chosen her magical girl outfit, but I’ll do a follow-up for her civilian outfit later.

She started off the series as a Witch and later ends up becoming a key part of the group, as well as becoming a magical girl like the others. As the youngest of the group she’s a lot more childish and cheerful, but does have serious moments.

Nagisa’s magical outfit is very whimsical like the rest of her personality, accentuated by long curly white hair worn in small pigtails sticking out of her brown cat eared hat, and big yellow/orange eyes. She wears a cropped undershirt, a pink poncho, brown bloomers with bowed suspenders attached, and she has fingerless gloves and spotted tights, with orange soles (though I did go with ballet flats just because I couldn’t find ones built in).

Enid Sinclair (Nevermore Uniform) from Wednesday

Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) is a character in Netflix’s Wednesday. She is a werewolf student who attends Nevermore Academy. She is also roommates with Wednesday Addams. Born in California, Enid is bright, sunny, and cheerful — the exact opposite of the titular character. Although she is unafraid to stand up for those she cares about. Throughout the series, she befriends and supports Wednesday, helping her investigate the murders. Following the instructions on the bottle, use the indigo Rit dye on the blazer. Then affix the embroidered patch.
