Kiriko from Overwatch

Kiriko (voiced by Sally Amaki) is a support hero in the Overwatch game series.  Kiriko uses kunai as a weapon and has healing abilities, and is aided by a kitsune spirit, which heavily influences her design.  When searching for a costume, there are several full cosplay outfits available for purchase if you’re willing to shell out for the convenience of getting everything together at once.  Otherwise, you can save money if you’re willing to get a little creative by layering a skirt over leggings paired with a short-sleeved top.  (Cut the front panel of the skirt for an even closer match.)  You’ll also need a wig, kitsune-inspired headband, fingerless gloves, and red high tops to complete the look.

Tiny Tina from Tiny Tina’s Wonderland

Tiny Tina (voiced by Ashley Burch) is an NPC from the Broderlands game franchise who’s received her own game in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.  Tiny Tina is a teenage explosives expert with an eccentric look to match.  To recreate her costume, you’ll need a little patience and plenty of layering.  Starting with your main outfit, you’ll want to put a brown tank top and skirt over your pink counterparts.  Don’t be afraid to distress the brown skirt a little to get closer to her look.  She also wears a pair of asymmetrical brown knickers and mismatched shoes.  To match the look of her lower body, wear a baggy white sock on one foot and put two pink legwarmers on the other side to make it appear thicker.  Tiny Tina also wears an arm sleeve on her right side and an orange bandana around her neck, as well as plenty of sloppily placed bandages.  Top the look off with a pink wizard hat and bunny ears.  Though they won’t completely match the creepy rabbit head she wears in the game, you can cut slits into the hat for the ears so they stand to their fullest height.

Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2

Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2

Handsome Jack (voiced by Dameon Clarke) is one of the antagonists in Gearbox Software’s hit franchise BorderlandsHe is charasmatic, engaging, and thoroughly evil. Of course everyone loves a good villain and Handsome Jack is no exception. Of course it helps that he is modeled after two other fan favorite characters: Jack Harkness from Doctor Who and Mal from Firefly. Neither man would get along with Handsome Jack, unless of course we’re talking about their style.

There are two keys to getting Handsome Jack’s look: His mask and his layers.

You can buy a premade mask on Etsy. Or, if you want something more pliable, you can use face paint to recreate the look of his mask.

His layers are a little bit easier. Start with a long-sleeve yellow shirt and add a long white collared overshirt on top. Then put on a brown leather vest and finally a short blue coat. Once all that is in place you can finish off the clothes with black jeans and a brown belt with a large buckle, brown sneakers, and a large digital watch. The finishing touch, a brown wig, will have you set to hatch your own schemes in no time.

Sniper from Team Fortress 2

TF2 Sniper

Loners from S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Loners from S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Loners are the post-fallout survivors that don’t ascribe to any faction in the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Set an an alternate history and taking place in the area around Chernobyl, each letter in the title stands for one faction of the society in The Zone. And of course Loners, well, work alone.

Loners have many different looks but they all follow a generally militaristic look. This means that most of the pieces for their costume are Army surplus. A tan tactical vest, tan tactical jacket, tan balaclava, camo pants, and tan combat boots make up the body of the costume. Many Loners also wear goggles and fingerless gloves. Accessories can include a gas mask and fake weapon, though be sure to check the costume weapon guidelines at any event you plan on attending!
