Astrid Deetz from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)
The new trailer for the second Beetlejuice film released recently and is called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, planned to release this fall of 2024. The film takes place in the future after the previous one we all know from 1988. Most of the cast is the same as the original, playing their original characters we all know and love. Although, there is one main character that is joining the bunch, played by Jenna Ortega. Her character is named Astrid Deetz. Although we aren’t exactly sure what her story is yet, we know Ortega will bring something new and exciting to the film based on her past performance as Wednesday. Both that series and this film have been directed by Tim Burton.
Astrid’s looks, based on what we can see in the trailer, fit the dark theme of the film and match the rest of the cast while maintaining her own personality. We see her riding a bike through the iconic town we recognize and she wears a striped sweater dress that has been distressed and has a gothic edge to it. When we see her in promo picks along with the rest of the cast who seem to be dressed for what looks to be a funeral, she wears a deep purple coat rather than a black one. In another scene she dresses even lighter, wearing a blue denim jacket with a floral dress. I can’t wait to see the transformation her wardrobe takes throughout the film.
The Creature from Lisa Frankenstein
Lisa Frankenstein is a new 80s style horror/comedy film by Zelda Williams. Set in 1989, the film follows a teenager named Lisa in high school who has a new crush that turns out to be a reanimated corpse. The Creature is played by Cole Sprouse.
The Creature goes through different styles and costume changes in this movie, even an 80s makeover. But his most recognizable is this look that features a white shirt, black suspenders, plaid tweed pants, a black scarf, black dress shoes, and of course makeup to really give that undead look.
Lisa from Lisa Frankenstein
Lisa Frankenstein (Kathryn Newton) is a new 80s style horror/comedy film by Zelda Williams. Set in 1989, the film follows a teenager named Lisa in high school who has a new crush that turns out to be an reanimated corpse.
Lisa’s style is one that has lots of layers and is oh-so-80s. To dress like Lisa, wear a black sheer dotted shirt with a corset style tank top layered on top, and layered over that is a bolero sleeve top. Pair with a black tulle skirt with a wide black waist belt. Under that wear black tights, black fishnet tights or layer both with black combat boots. She also wears a headband that features a large black bow, black sunglasses, small silver hoop earrings, and finally a red lipstick and nail polish.

Serial Designation V (voiced by Nola Klop) is a Disassembly Drone in the web series Murder Drones. V is a member of Serial Designation J‘s squad alongside Serial Designation N before the latter joins forces with Uzi instead. V is a drone with a primarily black and white body. To recreate her look, layer a white bell sleeve blouse under a black bodysuit and then wear a black crop top and a pair of white shorts over top. You can add caution tape details to the hem of your sleeves and your shorts. Then, add a pair of white gloves, a white mask and LED sunglasses, and a silver bob wig. A pair fo black and white striped shoes will complete your look.
Elaine from The Love Witch
Elaine is a character from the film The Love Witch, and is played by Samantha Robinson. The Love Witch follows Elaine, a witch who is trying to find a man to love her but makes her spells too strong and ends up killing them.
Elaine’s costume go perfectly with the campy 60s look of the film with lots of red and white lace pieces. She often wears simple red dresses, but when she goes to tea with her new friend, she wears a bright pink sun hat with faux pink flowers. She pairs this with a white dress that can be recreated with a white lace blouse and white flowy skirt with a gold necklace and her signature blue 60s eyeshadow.
Uzi from Murder Drones
Uzi Doorman (voiced by Elsie Lovelock) is the protagonist and anti-heroine of the web series Murder Drones. Uzi is a Worker Drone who befriends Serial Designation N. They work together to stop Serial Designation J from eradicating the Worker Drones. Uzi has purple hair and wears a black striped beanie, purple striped socks, and black boots. Her primary clothing consists of a black hoodie with a battery and crossbones on it. You can recreate your own with a long hoodie and some fabric paint, or purchase a replica sweatshirt to pair with your robot bodysuit.
Serial Designation N from Murder Drones
Serial Designation N (voiced by Michael Kovach) is a kindly Disassembly Drone who befriends Uzi Doorman in the web series Murder Drones. The two then work together to stop Serial Designation J from eradicating the Worker Drones. N, as he is commonly known, wants nothing more than to be useful, and empathizes with Uzi and her fellow Worker Drones where other Disassembly Drones do not. N wears a long coat over his white drone body. His eyes and lights that halo his silver hair glow yellow. You can recreate this by adding glow-in-the-dark stickers to a black chauffeur’s cap and wearing light-up glasses. N also has a long black tail that ends in a syringe. Use hazard tape to add some details to your costume.
