Weird Al in “Party in the CIA”
It’s a party in the…CIA? Weird Al parodies “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus in this music video. His animated counterpart dons a black suit with a red tie, watch, and sunglasses. Currently, the song has 16 million streams on Spotify and the official music video has 38 million views on Youtube.
Weird Al Yankovic in “Tacky”
In the parody of “Happy” by Pharrell, Weird Al Yankovic not only sings about fashion faux pas but dresses the part. Stripes with plaid, belt with suspenders, sandals with socks, Weird Al shows us in the music video for “Tacky” that no matter how badly it clashes, the uglier the better as long as you own it.
Tawny Madison / Gwen DeMarco from Galaxy Quest
Played to perfection by Sigourney Weaver, Gwen DeMarco is the perfect “Galaxy Quest” parody to every communications officer in Star Trek. Woefully under-appreciated despite a talent for alien languages, communications officers are usually accused of just “repeating the computer”. And DeMarco is sick of it!
You might not be headed for a starship, but you can still get DeMarco’s look. Start with a blonde wig, a red tank top, and grey boots. Snag a grey flight suit and some red paint for the details of a Galaxy quest suit. Add on a Galaxy Quest patch, grab your communicator, and you’re ready to go.
Holly Hale from Scary Movie 4
Holly Hale (played by Carmel Electra) is a character in the parody film Scary Movie 4. Holly is blind, a parody of Ivy Elizabeth Walker from the M. Night Shyamalan film The Village. Holly’s Amish-inspired costuming is much more overtly sexy than the real thing, so it might be difficult to find an exact match for her blue prairie dress. But you can focus on matching the print, silhouette, or neckline if you can’t find one that meets all the requirements at once. Pairing your dress with a wooden walking stick, short red wig, and a good sense of humor will top off the look. If you’re more interested in recreating the sexy lingerie costuming Holly reveals in the film, a lace bodysuit can add a little extra coverage than the original.
Cindy Campbell from Scary Movie 2
Cindy Campbell (played by Anna Faris) is the main protagonist of the Scary Movie franchise. She is a parody character based on Sidney Prescott from the Scream film series. In true horror film fashion, Cindy is sweet and attractive, though a little meek. She wears a variety of outfits throughout the films, and her hair eventually changes to blonde, but in Scary Movie 2, some of her most memorable outfits include a white bell-sleeved blouse with black pants and a pale blue turtleneck with white jeans.
TMG in “Broke B*tch”
Tiny Meat Gang is the parody rap duo consisting of famous YouTubers Noel Miller and Cody Ko. While the music project began as tongue and cheek, their songs became non-ironically popular. Their latest hit, “Broke B*tch,” has been deemed one of their best with over 22 million listens on Spotify. Its music video garnered 9.4 million views, and has been highly praised for its concept and editing. Not only did Noel Miller rap and star in the video — he also directed it! The two comedians discussed their lyrics to “Broke B*tch” in a Genius Verified video, which is funny given they’ve poked fun at that series in their commentary collabs.
Weird Al Yankovic
Weird Al Yankovic is a singer-songwriter known for his silly parodies and pastiches, scoring hit singles like “Amish Paradise” and “White & Nerdy”. He’s also starred film and television with UHF and The Weird Al Show respectively. Put on the glasses and mustache for his 80s look.
