Bea from Anyone But You
Anyone But You is a new comedy/romance film directed by Will Gluck, and stars Sydney Sweeney as Bea and alongside her, Glen Powell as Ben. In the film, we follow the two characters as they have a successful first date that quickly turns upside down. They later unexpectedly run into each other at a wedding in Australia and pretend to be the perfect couple together.
Bea has two recognizable dress looks that can easily be recreated. One is a blue satin maxi dress with a draped neckline, and another is a pink maxi and flowy formal dress. She pairs both of these dresses with silver heels.
Nora from Past Lives
Nora is a character from the romance-drama film Past Lives, and is played by Greta Lee. Past Lives follows two childhood friends named Hae Sung and Nora who were separated when Nora’s family emigrated from South Korea. For a week they are reunited as they contemplate what life could’ve been if different choices were made.
The costumes in this film are simple ones but intentional. To dress like Nora Lee, wear a white button down shirt, wide leg khaki pants, white running shoes, and a black bag. Another look is a navy blue printed blouse.
Hadley Sullivan from Love at First Sight
Hadley Sullivan is from the new Netflix film Love at First Sight, and is played by Haley Lu Richardson. Love at First Sight follows Hadley and Oliver who are on the same flight from New York to London and fall in love with each other on the plane. They lose each other at customs and try throughout the film to find eachother again.
Hadley wears trendy and casual outfits, as well as a formal dress, all in warm colors. In one look she wears an orange crop top, with a red sports bra or tank top underneath with stacked silver necklaces. The most iconic look from the film however, is an all red dress which can be recreated with a red velvet tank top, a red layered tulle skirt, a petticoat to add volume, and don’t forget a pair of green Nike sneakers.
Mia Dolan from La La Land
In La La Land, Mia Dolan (Emma Stone) is a struggling Los Angeles-based actress, whose path seems to keep crossing with that of Sebastian Wilder, a struggling jazz pianist. After enough coincidental encounters, a song, and a dance, they allow their lives to intertwine a bit more voluntarily. Below, I’ll show you how to recreate Mia’s iconic outfit from the movie posters, which she wears while dancing with Sebastian after a long walk on foot to find her missing car keys.
John Ambrose McClaren from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 2
John Ambrose McClaren (played by Jordan Fisher) is Lara Jean Covey’s newest love interest in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You. An intelligent and caring former classmate, John Ambrose volunteers at the same nursing home as Lara Jean. Whether he is hosting the Star Ball in a white tux or bringing pizzas to hangout with his friends (which irritates Lara Jean’s boyfriend, Peter), John Ambrose is always dressed to impress with a winning smile and attitude.
Peter Kavinsky from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 2
Peter Kavinsky (played by Noah Centino) has some competition in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You. When a former classmate, John Ambrose, responds to one of Lara Jean Covey’s letters, his relationship with her becomes a little complicated. Peter is a popular student who plays lacrosse for his high school, and his style is casual and comfortable, but trendy. While he does not prioritize his fashion sense in the same way as Lara Jean, he does his best to look good for their first date. Always thoughtful, he brings flowers for his girlfriend when he picks her up for dinner, and recites poetry to her on Valentine’s Day.
Lara Jean Covey from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 2
In To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 2: P.S. I Still Love You, Lara Jean Covey (played by Lana Condor) finds herself having to choose between her dreamy boyfriend Peter Kavinsky and a new love interest who responds to one of her original letters, John Ambrose. While much of Lara’s signature vintage-infused style is seen in the film, she also gets to dress up more for some exciting events including her first date with Peter, a traditional Korean New Year celebration, and a ball she and John Ambrose throw at the nursing home where they both volunteer.
Danny Zuko
