Tiny Tina from Borderlands (2024)

Borderlands is a movie based off of the original video games. It follows a bounty hunter that joins a team of misfits who fight monsters and bandits together.

Tiny Tina in the film, like her original character, has a quirky unique look with patchwork and lots of personality. To dress like Tiny Tina, start with a floral long-sleeve shirt at the base. Take the sleeve up to a bit above the elbow of a gray flare sleeved sweater, then attach this right above the elbow of the floral shirt. Don’t worry about having perfect seams in this costume, as it’s supposed to look scrappy. Over this, wear a color-block pastel t-shirt and cut it off at the center of the chest, or right under the sleeves. Take a brown striped tshirt and cut it off the same point, then attach the bottom half of the brown shirt to the rest of the pastel one. For pants, wear orange joggers/ sweatpants under a gray circle skirt. At the waist, wear a holographic or dark fanny pack. Attach the smiley button on one side of your shirt. For the headband, you can buy a custom on Etsy or 3-D print, but another clever option is to take futuristic prop sunglasses, and wear across your forehead. If it’s too loose, attach some elastic or pin in your hair. You could even use some string or whatever scrappy piece you find. For the ears, either wear a bunny ears headband or cut the ears off and attach them to the headband, while keeping in mind it may weigh it down slightly. Add a pink bandaid to your nose and use some temporary hot pink color to add streaks in your hair. You can also wear a yellow rain jacket over it all. If the costume looks too bright for you take some watered down brown acrylic or fabric paint and distress your costume layer by layer, focusing at the seams. You can also run over them with sandpaper.

He Who Was from Baldur’s Gate 3

He Who Was is a character in Baldur’s Gate 3. He is a shadar-kai NPC who resides in the shadow-cursed lands. He has a Raven companion. The player may meet him in Act 2 while traversing the Ruined Battlefield. His quest is Punish the Wicked, in which the player can choose to help him punish Madeline through necromancy, or the player can help defend her. Use the black eyeliner to draw his eye and chin tattoos.

Karlach from Baldur’s Gate 3

Karlach is a popular Companion character from the video game, Baldur’s Gate 3. She is a Tiefling Barbarian. She fought in the Blood War as an unwilling soldier in Zariel’s army. Under her command she suffered, such as having her heart replaced by an infernal engine. Now free from Avernus, she’s been given a new chance at life and is never going back. The party can recruit her at the Risen Road. Despite her precarious physicality, Karlach is friendly and enthusiastic. She aims to enjoy her freedom to its fullest passion. Flip the wig to one side and buzz underneath for her bold undercut.

Squigly (Sienna Contiello) from Skullgirls

Squigly (voiced in Japanese by Miyuki Sawashiro and in English by Lauren Landa) is one of the DLC characters in the fighting game, Skullgirls.

While her life as Sienna is covered through the backstory part of her story mode, she’s seen in the rest of the game modes as her undead form, Squigly. Like Filia, she is connected to a parasite, hers being named Leviathan, and he is the being that is keeping her in a ‘living’ form. Her fighting style closely incorporates Leviathan, and also uses song in attacks.

Squigly has light blue skin and dark blue hair worn in two pigtails in red ties (I didn’t include materials for Leviathan, but may try to make a tutorial later), a stitched shut mouth, and intense red eyes. She wears a low cut dark magenta shirt with scooped sides, a giant cartoony skull over her chest, red and white striped disconnected sleeves with a starry flared base over her hands (one of which is skeletal), her skirt is tight and dark blue, with the same sort of flare at the end, with cutouts circling the base, a pair of red and white striped stockings, and it’s finished off with a tall black collar with a white x at the front.

Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3

Astarion is a character from the video game, Baldur’s Gate 3. He’s a High-Elf Rogue. For centuries, he roamed at night as a vampire in servitude of his sadistic master. As a result of the mind flayer tadpole, he can do lots a typical vampire can’t do, such as walk in the sunlight and enter homes uninvited. Unless you’re talented at sewing, there’s no way to truly replicate his outfits. However, you can certainly assemble an look inspired by Astarion! His typical garments consist of doublets and vests in shades of blue, red, and black with gold patterning and touches of ruffles and lace. His casual look is easy to put together with the peasant blouse and brown pants. Click here for a lace front wig option.

The Empress of Light is a Hardmode boss from the Terraria video game.  She is encountered in the Hallow.  The Empress of Light has a beautiful, prismatic appearance, despite her vicious attack style.  To recreate her look, use golden yellow body paint on your face and neck to match the color of your bodysuit.  Then, you’ll pair it with a blue monokini or cut-out leotard, gloves, boots, and ruffles worn around your upper arms, as well as a pink wig and matching pink open-front skirt.  Finally, you’ll need a pair of elf ears (which you can make appear more yellow with the same body paint used on your face), a blue unicorn horn, and gold crown.  Finally, don’t forget your impressive multicolored wings.
