During Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX halftime show, Samuel L. Jackson made an appearance dressed up as Uncle Sam. Clad in red, white, and blue stars and stripes, he emceed the performance, mostly by complaining it was "too loud, too reckless, too ghetto". His Uncle Sam was both a wink at the conservative-leaning audience of the NFL, and a nod to Jackson's role as an Uncle Tom character in Django Unchained.
