Greg Hirsch from Succession
Greg Hirsch, played by Nicholas Braun, is from the series Succession. Greg is the cousin of the Roy siblings and works his way up in the huge family company that is Waystar Royco. He has the most endearing personality in the show because of his nervousness and least corrupt behavior in the family. Tom Wambsgans becomes his mentor and friend that is a joy to watch in the show, and a hilarious duo.
Greg’s style changes throughout the season as he makes his way up the company. He started at the very bottom- fired from a theme park where he would dress pretty sloppy but as he gains wealth and finds a place at Waystar, his haircuts become cleaner and he begins wearing sharp suits. There are in-between stages where layering is used where you can really see this transition and growth with a combination of some old pieces that he is still holding onto, and new pieces as he begins to get paid more and more.
Tom Wambsgans from Succession
Tom Wambsgans played by Matthew MacFadyen, is from the series Succession. Tom is married to one of Logan Roy’s children, Siobhan “Shiv” Roy. He works for Waystar Royco and is ambitious in the way he is always working to grow in the company and becomes very successful in that. He becomes a mentor, friend, and ‘Disgusting Brother’ to Greg Hirsch, which creates a hilarious duo to watch.
Tom’s style is a classic and simple one. He doesn’t stand out from the crowd and the rest of the company, but is always dressed appropriately in every occasion. He wears lots of navy blue suits, and ties in certain instances. For more casual events he tends to wear a simple nice vest over a dress shirt, and in both cases, always a watch. His style throughout the series really shows that he is a true underdog and quietly works his way up to the top.
Nadia from Russian Doll
Nadia from the Netflix dark comedy-drama series Russian Doll is played by the iconic Natasha Lyonne, who also created the show. Nadia is the stylish protagonist of the series where we follow her living the same day, her birthday, over and over. Her strong/tough personality reflects in her wardrobe. She is a true New Yorker and therefore wears lots of black and grey. Her outfit almost always consists of a silk blouse and a wool coat. She always wears a gold necklace and plays with layering. She is serious in her clothing but always hilariously dismissive towards the world in the show. You can never go wrong with Natasha Lyonne!
Janine Teagues from Abbott Elementary
Janine Teagues, played by the show’s creator Quinta Brunson, is the main character from the show Abbott Elementary. Janine is a second grade teacher at the elementary school in the series. She is a determined and kind character that is passionate about helping her students and coworkers be the best versions of themselves that they can be. Janine has a school-appropriate but stylish and comfy style to all of her outfits. She wears lots of warm colors, chunky sweaters, and fun patterns. You’ll usually see her in a turtle or mock-neck, maxi dresses and fun and flowy pants or skirts.
Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid (2023)
Prince Eric from the new Disney 2023 film, The Little Mermaid is played by the charming Jonah Hauer-King. This live action version of the beloved animated film is a fun and refreshing new take on the original. Prince Eric’s costume that he wears throughout the movie closely resembles the one from the original film. Not to mention his iconic flowy white shirt and riding boots. He wears lots of deep blues, with red details like the button holes on his vest. He wears the perfect costume for a prince at sea!
Mirabel Garlick from Hogwarts Legacy
Mirabel Garlick is a character in the new video game set in the Harry Potter universe, Hogwarts Legacy. She is a herbology professor at Hogwarts in the game. She has become a popular character on the internet since the game was released in February of 2023. Her kind and positive demeanor really shines through to audiences, despite her being a minor character. Mirabel’s costume fits into her interests and environments perfectly. She wears greens, yellows, and purples that reflect the plants she surrounds herself with. Leather straps are worn around the arms that resemble vines, and the flower garland adorns her green witch hat. The many layers to her costume makes it very uniquely interesting and creates a beautiful color palette.
Ariel from The Little Mermaid (2023)
Ariel from the new Disney 2023 film, The Little Mermaid is played by Halle Bailey. This live action version of the beloved animated film is a fun and refreshing new take on the original. Ariel is just as stylish on shore as she is under the sea! On land she wears a frilly light ocean blue dress that is perfectly fit for a princess. The details in her costumes throughout the film reflect the theme of the sea and all things underwater. The light and airy ruffles on her dresses remind us of waves, and the ruching resembles patterns on fish. Other than blue, she also has lots of pink details.
