Carbon Costume

Daniela Wytte, more often called Dani, is the female protagonist of the webtoon Hooky.  She studies magic alongside her twin brother Dorian and is the younger sister of Damien.  Dani has black hair and often dresses in black and white, which matches her brother’s attire.  To recreate her look, you can wear a black t-shirt style dress with pinstriped leggings, and combat boots.  Accessorize with a white fake collar, black tie, and an oversized white hair bow.  You could also opt for black tights, black ankle boots, and a black long-sleeved dress with a white collar.  Either way, choose a black wig with bangs and trim to your desired length.

Mike Schmidt (played by Josh Hutcherson) is the protagonist of the horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s, based on the same-named video game.  Mike is set up with a job as a security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza by his career counselor.  Mike has messy hair and perpetual stubble.  His “uniform” consists primarily of a black vest that says “SECURITY” on the left side.  To make your costume, start with jeans and a grey thermal.  You can opt for a navy zip-up or a crewneck sweater, depending on which part of the movie you want to emulate.  Finish the look with either a green jacket or a black vest with a “SECURITY” decal added to make it look official, and a handy flashlight.

Nanno (played by Kitty Chicha) is the protagonist of the Thai television series Girl from Nowhere.  A mysterious immortal figure, Nanno masquerades as a high school student, exposing the secrets of students and faculty alike.  Nanno wears a few different versions of a high school uniform throughout the series, so you can’t go wrong with a navy pleated skirt and a pale blue button-down shirt of your choice.  Likewise, she wears a few different navy ties, so don’t worry if you can’t find an exact match.  Finish your uniform with a black belt, white socks, and black Mary Jane shoes.  Nanno’s most striking feature is her hair, cut in a long bob with straight across bangs.  Depending on whether you’d like to emulate one of the gorier scenes from the series, you may also need a generous amount of fake blood.

Bud Swanson (voiced by Ed O’Neill) is the estranged father of Joe Swanson in the animated series Family Guy.  He is the father-in-law of Bonnie and the grandfather of Kevin and Susie.  In an episode titled Papa Has a Rolling Son, the father-son pair reunite and attempt to repair their relationship.  Bud has grey hair and dresses in business casual clothes.  If you haven’t yet gone grey, don a wig, and then build your outfit using dark brown slacks, black dress shoes, a white button-down shirt, and a maroon V-neck sweater.

Ada Wong (voiced by Courtney Taylor) appears in the feature-length animated horror film Resident Evil: Damnation.  As with her many appearances in the horror game franchise of the same name, Ada‘s appearance in Damnation includes short black hair and a red and black color palette.  To recreate her look, you’ll need a short black wig, black choker, and red pumps.  Her outfits consists of a red long-sleeved button-down shirt (left buttoned at the throat and upper chest), as well as a leather jacket with vertical piping and a leather pencil skirt with a thigh slit.  It’s hard to find a skirt with a slit on the right thigh, but you can pull the one pictured up higher to mimic the shorter length of Ada’s original from the movie.

Steve Raglan (played by Matthew Lillard) is a career counselor who helps Mike Schmidt secure a job as a security guard in the horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s, based on the video game of the same name.  Steve wears gold wire-framed glasses and has a greying beard.  He wears mostly bland colors (think pale yellows and browns).  While you may not be able to find an exact match for any of his shirts from the film, a yellow and blue striped button-down with a blue Swiss dot tie or a brown plaid shirt with a burgundy and black striped one will do the trick.  Finish your costume with a goatee, which you can apply using spirit gum and grey out a bit with some mascara, and khakis.

Lancer is a main character from the game Deltarune.  A Darkner like Spamton, Ralsei, and Jevil, Lancer is white and black with blue details including and looks like a spade from a deck of cards.  For your costume, you can start with a white full-body suit.  Wear a blue hood, blue gloves, and blue shoes.  Add an iron-on blue spade decal to a black leotard to wear over top and you’re ready to go.

Nimona (voiced by Chloe Grace Moretz) is the titular young sidekick of the Netflix adaptation of ND Stevenson’s comic of the same name.  Nimona is a shapeshifter and sidekick to Ballister Boldheart, who is framed for Queen Valerin’s murder.  Nimona can take the form of many animals, but she most often appears as a young human girl.  As a human, Nimona wears brown boots and silver armor beneath a red vest, skirt, and belt.  To recreate her armored shorts, cut a pair of shiny silver leggings to fit.  Then, layer a burgundy skirt and brown belt overtop.  For the rest of her costume, use a brown short-sleeved turtleneck, layer a red tunic over it, and add dragon-scale epaulets to emulate her armor.  You’ll also need to style a short ginger wig and use brown wrappings around your forearms and hands.
