Minerva McGonagall
Minerva McGonagall is a character in the Harry Potter book and movie series. She is a professor at Hogwarts as well as the head of the Gryffindor house. She teaches Transfiguration, which she has a talent for as an Animagus, as she can transfigure into a tabby cat. Minerva is a stern instructor, but she genuinely cares about the well being of her students. As a former Gryffindor student, she values courage and bravery above all else, and isn’t afraid to deduct points from her own house when its necessary. Her wisdom, intelligence, and leadership skills make her perhaps the most respected professor at Hogwarts alongside Dumbledore. In the movie adaptation, Dame Maggie Smith plays this role.
Sister Bear from Berenstain Bears
Sister Bear is the second child of Mama Bear and Papa Bear. Great at outdoors activities, a natural in sports, and being highly competitive make Sister Bear the spunky young bear she is. She also likes fairy tales and the color pink. She is growing up while learning lessons about sharing and the golden rule in the Berenstain Bears.
Lucius Malfoy
Lucius Malfoy is an antagonist in Harry Potter. He is the husband of Narcissa Malfoy and the father of Harry’s enemy, Draco Malfoy. Bellatrix Lestrange is his sister-in-law. Lucius and his wife belong to the Death Eaters, aka the most adamant followers of Lord Voldemort. Because of his wealth and status, he takes great pride in his aristocratic status. Like Draco, he looks down upon half bloods and Muggle born wizards, for he thinks pureblood wizards are inherently superior. Lucius has a particular disdain for the Weasley family, as well as Harry Potter himself. Jason Isaacs plays this role in the film adaptation.
Renesmee Cullen from Twilight
Renesmee Cullen (Mackenzie Foy) is a character from the Twilight saga. She’s the daughter of Edward and Bella Cullen, and her name is a combination of Bella’s mother (Renee) and Edward’s mother (Esme). The Volturi want to kill her because she’s a hybrid. Renesmee and Nahuel are the only two existing hybrids. This drives the plot in the latter half of Breaking Dawn, where Bella and Edward recruit other covens to protect her. Jacob imprints on her, which repairs the relationship between the Cullens and the Quilete tribe. She grows at a rapid rate and possesses supernatural gifts, but she can sleep like a human.
Mousesack from Netflix’s The Witcher
Mousesack (played by Adam Levy) is a skilled druid in Netflix’s The Witcher. Mousesack is extremely protective of Ciri and highly trusted by her grandmother Queen Clanthe. Mousesack wears a gold tunic cinched with a brown leather belt.
Tissaia from Netflix’s The Witcher
Tissaia de Vries (played MyAnna Buring) is also known as the rector of Aratuza in Netflix’s The Witcher. She is the powerful sorceress responsible for Yennefer’s magical education, and she and Yennefer often argue over the best ways in which to teach new mages as well as use their powers. Tissaia favors a Victorian aesthetic with structured dresses in rich colors that often have a high collar.
Queen Calanthe from Netflix’s The Witcher
In Netflix’s The Witcher, Queen Calanthe (played by Jodhi May) is a strong, though flawed leader of Cintra and grandmother of Ciri. Calanthe is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, but as a result of some of her actions, Nilfgaard invades Cintra and many of her subjects become angry with her. Calanthe wears both armor and regal clothing throughout The Witcher, depending on whether she is serving as Queen or General.
John Ambrose McClaren from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 2
John Ambrose McClaren (played by Jordan Fisher) is Lara Jean Covey’s newest love interest in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You. An intelligent and caring former classmate, John Ambrose volunteers at the same nursing home as Lara Jean. Whether he is hosting the Star Ball in a white tux or bringing pizzas to hangout with his friends (which irritates Lara Jean’s boyfriend, Peter), John Ambrose is always dressed to impress with a winning smile and attitude.
Renfri from Netflix’s The Witcher
In Netflix’s The Witcher series, Renfri (played by Emma Appleton) was born a princess and swore vengeance against Stregobor for his role in her attempted assassination. Stregobor believed Renfri to be a monster because she was born during an eclipse. When Geralt meets Renfri, she is already resolute in her vengeful plan. She dresses to kill Stregobor in a loose-fitting shirt, leather armor, as well as her sword and dagger.
Jaskier from Netflix’s The Witcher
Jaskier (known as Dandelion in the video games and played by Joey Batey) is a bard and friend of Geralt of Rivia on Netflix’s show The Witcher. Jaskier is not only responsible for singing of Geralt’s deeds and penning “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher,” but he also injects some much needed levity into the story of Geralt. Jaskier can often be found wearing brightly colored and elaborately patterned clothing, and he is never without his trusty lute to help him compose his ballads. However, as fans of the video games may notice, he is without his trademark hat in the Netflix series.
