Minato Namikaze from Naruto
Minato Namikaze (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa and Tony Oliver) was the Fourth Hokage of Konohagakure. Also known as the Yellow Flash, Minato was a powerful ninja who died while protecting his village. Despite being only mentioned for much of the series, Minato plays a key role in the story as the husband of Kushina, father of Naruto, and former sensei of Kakashi Hatake, Obito, and Rin. Minato wears the standard Konoha jonin uniform, with his Yondaime cape over top. He often uses kunai knives in tandem with his Flying Thunder God technique in battle.
Ban from Seven Deadly Sins
Ban is a main character in the anime Seven Deadly Sins. He is the immortal Fox sin of Greed and the husband of Elaine, the fairy sister of King. After the sins disbanded, Ban became imprisoned in the Baste Dungeon. When he discovered Meliodas was still alive, he managed to escape and reunite with him. His main power is Snatch, and his main weapon are a pair of silver nunchucks. Selfish and easily excited, Ban usually articulates a singsong type voice. You can style the wig with spiking gel and hairspray.
King Shark
King Shark is a character in the animated DC Universe Harley Quinn series. As a giant human-shark hybrid, King Shark is a part of Harley’s crew of mainly C-List villains. His real name is Nanuae, and he is actually a Prince of the Shark Men Kingdom. We first meet him at Poison Ivy‘s apartment after Clayface called him to help Harley. His abilities include underwater advantages, such as swimming and breathing underwater, as well as superhuman strength and durability. Although don’t let King Shark around blood, or his shark instincts will go berserk.
Catra from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
“Hey Adora.” When you hear Catra purr this phrase, you know trouble is brewing. Catra is a main character in the Netflix animated series, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. She began as a Horde soldier alongside Adora, and the two developed a close friendship. However, she was always possessive and jealous, especially due to Shadow Weaver’s favoritism. When Adora leaves to join the Rebellion, Catra tries to bring her back, but to no avail. The thought of losing her best friend for good causes Catra to lash out, consumed by anger, grief, and sadness. She taunts the Princesses, especially She-Ra, and revels in her evil doings. But even as the new Force Captain and eventually Hordak’s second in command, she feels dejected and questions her motivations. After briefly becoming an agent of Horde Prime, Catra realizes her mistakes and confesses her love to Adora. At the end of the series, Adora and Catra become girlfriends.
Nana “Hachi” Komatsu
Nana “Hachi” Komatsu is the main character in NANA. She lives in Tokyo with her husband, Takumi Ichinose, the bassist of Trapnest, a pop rock band in Japan. Together they have two children: Ren and Satsuki. She also has connections with another band called the Black Stones. While Nana matures throughout the series, she has a habit of falling in love at first sight and depending on others to help her. To achieve this look, sew the dark gold fringe trim on the skirt and leg warmers.
Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia
Izuku Midoriya, or simply known as Deku, is the protagonist of the hit anime My Hero Academia. Although born without a special quirk, Deku wants more than anything to be a hero. Seeing his potential, All-Might passed his Quirk to Deku, which makes him the ninth holder of One for All. He’s an enthusiastic student of Class 1-A at U.A. High School because he interested in everything about heroes. Caring and emotional, Deku never misses an opportunity to help someone in need.
Invisible Woman from The Fantastic Four
Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba) makes up one fourth of the Fantastic Four, a group of superheroes who acquired their diverse abilities after exposure to cosmic rays. Sue’s power is invisibility. With the help of her brilliant husband Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, her incorrigible brother Johnny Storm / Human Torch, and their temperamental friend Ben Grimm / The Thing, they defend the world from a slew of alien invaders and also their former associate, scientist Doctor Doom.
Washimi from Aggretsuko
Washimi (voiced by Komegumi Koiwasaki in the original Japanese and Tara Platt in the English dub) is a secretary bird who is, fittingly, the secretary for the president of Chalaryman Trading Company. She is no-nonsense hard-kicking pragmatist who balances the more flighty natures of her two best friends Gori and Retsuko. That’s not to say she doesn’t have a soft side, though. You just have to get close to see it!
To cosplay as Washimi you’ll want to start with a white wig that is long enough to style back with silver hair pins that mimic her feathers. A white shirt and blazer pair with a black pencil skirt and yellow leggings to set up her work style. And, finally, yellow pumps finish off the look.
Sango from InuYasha
In the anime InuYasha, Sango (voiced by Houku Kuwashima in Japanese and Kelly Sheridan in English) is a powerful demon slayer who teams up with Miroku, Inuyasha, and Kagome. Sango eventually falls in love with and marries Miroku. Sango wears two distinct outfits, her pink and green kimono and her black and pink demon slaying uniform. Her signature weapon is Hiraikotsu, a giant boomerang made from the purified bones of demons. A replica of this weapon may be somewhat expensive, but it will truly elevate your costume. If you are crafty, perhaps you can even make your own!
Ruff Ruffman from FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman
Ruff Ruffman (voiced by Jim Conroy) is the titular talk show host of the PBS Kids’ show FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman, a reality-based game show where children competed for prizes. Ruff is a chubby dog with an outgoing personality. To dress like him, you’ll want an oversized costume, a pair of round glasses, and some face paint crayons to complete the dog-like transformation.
