Erika is one of the two main characters in the 2004 animated Barbie movie, Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper. Both roles are played by Barbie. Erika is the "pauper" character in contrast to Princess Anneliese. Although she works to pay off her parents' debt at the dress supplier for the palace, Erika dreams of becoming a singer and traveling the world. Upon a chance meeting, Anneliese and Erika learn that they are identical, and impersonate each other to fulfill their wishes. After falling in love and marrying King Dominick, she becomes Queen Erika.
