Games
El Primo from Brawl Stars
In Brawl Stars, El Primo is a luchador pro wrestler. As a brawler, he has high health and is able to inflict serious damage to anyone within his grasp. His super is the flying elbow drop, which allows him to close the gap with ranged fighters.
Piper from Brawl Stars
In Brawl Stars, Piper is a princess who deals a ton of damage while light on her feet. She snipes people from a great distance using her Gunbrella, then can float away from danger using her umbrella Mary Poppins style.
The Trapper from Dead by Daylight
In the asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight, the Trapper (Evan MacMillan) is one of the three killers along with the Hillbilly and the Wraith. As his name suggests, the Trapper uses his bear trap to capture survivors like Kate Denson. He also has perks to help him, such as unnerving presence, brutal strength, and agitation. With his white mask, unrelenting strength, and crude weaponry, the Trapper is inspired by iconic horror character Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series.
Rudy from Papa Louie
Depending on which game you play, Rudy is either a Closer or a chef in Papa Louie’s kitchen. Outside of work he likes to rock hard and satisfy his sweet tooth.
Rudy’s outfit outside of work really reflects his preference for rock music. A bald cap and fake mohawk give you his hair style while white sunglasses and a black belt are his only accessories. His black overshirt has jagged edges where the sleeves have been ripped at the elbow and blue spades on either upper arm that can be added with dark blue felt cut into shape and either pinned or glued in place. His undershirt is dark blue with a black spade on the chest that you can apply with fabric paint. Finally white jeans and black converse with blue laces round out the outfit.
For added accessories you can always grab a bass guitar (if you have one) or a bear claw from the nearest bakery. They are his favorites, after all!
Max Dillon from The Amazing Spider-Man II
Mild-mannered electrical engineer Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) lived an uneventful life until one day, when he was rescued by his hero, Spider-Man. That was shocking enough, but then he fell prey to a freak accident at Oscorp Industries, which turned him into pure electrical energy! He became Electro, a pawn of Harry Osborn, who mobilizes Dillon’s starvation for attention against the city.
Inspector Carmelita Montoya Fox from Sly Cooper
Carmelita Montoya Fox (voiced most recently by Roxana Ortega) is an agent with INTERPOL that has dedicated her career to tracking down the Cooper gang. Though Sly has his eyes on her for other reasons (and Carmelita maybe helped save his family once or twice), Carmelita is still determined to bring the whole Cooper clad in one day.
Though Carmelita is no-nonsense her costume still has a creative spark. Fox ears and a fox tail as well as face paint and a blue wig help you get her general look. For her clothes you can choose a khaki overshirt or a brown leather jacket over a blue bustier top and dark blue shorts or pants held up by a brown leather belt. Dark brown shin-high boots finish the clothes off while a Nerf gun and some paint can give you the same weapons Carmelita uses while she fights crime!
Clover from Papa Louie
Clover is a customer and later employee of Papa Louie’s. She is in the band Scarlett and the Shakers with other well-known Papa Louie franchise characters like her big brother Marty and their friends, Rudy and Scarlett.
Like the other members of her band, Clover’s clothes reflect her love of rock music. She wears her blonde hair short and spiked back with a black and white checkered headband. Her clothes consist of a button up short sleeve white black shirt, a white tie, a checkered belt that matches her headband, a white skirt, black leggings, and white sneakers. You’ll have to paint the toes of the shoes black to match. And of course her costume wouldn’t be complete without a set of drumsticks!
Scarlett from Papa Louie
Scarlett is the lead singer in the back Scarlett and the Shakers. Along with Marty, Rudy, and Clover, she is not only a rock star but one of Papa Louie’s faithful customers that eventually become his faithful employees.
To get Scarlett’s look start with a red wig and tie it back with a black tied headband. White heart earrings and a black leather belt are her only accessories. Getting the rest of her look, though, requires a little DIY. You can use red fabric pain to add hearts around the hem of a white denim vest and white fabric paint to add dashes around the sleeves of a black t-shirt. A red long sleeve shirt finishes off her layered tops while black and red check pants pair with black sneakers and red laces to complete the overall look. Just add a microphone and you’re good to go!
Ashley from WarioWare
Ashley (most recently voice by Erica Lindbeck) is a witch-in-training that largely appears in the Wario games. She makes a few appearances in other Nintendo franchises like Super Smash Bros. but for the most part she is a character in Wario minigames. Her interests are almost solely related to becoming a better witch while her demon friend, Red, takes care of most everything else.
Cosplaying as Ashley is thankfully more straight-forward than her magic spells are! You need a long black wig that you style into pigtails. A little orange ha and an orange neck scarf with a skull brooch act as accessories while a red dress, black tights, and red shoes make up the outfit. A little stuffed demon finishes off the costume as your very own Red!
Queen Frostine from Candyland
Queen Frostine is the benevolent queen of Candy Land. She is the wife of King Fudge and the mother of Princess Lolly. And though her costume appears simple, it is unique enough that getting it just right will take a little bit of DIY to bring the right details to your basic blue ballgown.
If you can find a scalloped skirt or apron to wear over your ballgown, then you don’t need the scalloped fabric. For those using the fabric, however, a little bit of double-sided tape will keep the material in place during your event or while you add safety pins for extra stability. Then when you’re done, you can remove the material the ballgown is back to a solid basic garment you can use with other cosplays!
