Jacob from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Jacob is the protagonist in the film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, based off of the book by Ransom Riggs. This movie is directed by Tim Burton and it definitely is fitting in its style. Jacob is played by Asa Butterfield, and is a character we follow through the story as he is transported into the past where a home of orphans with special powers live.

Jacob dresses very simply and realistically in this film, fitting the sea-side environment and spooky nature of the story. To dress like Jacob wear a green or blue jacket, a blue fisherman’s sweater or a green shirt and white tee combo.

Andy from The Devil Wears Prada

Andy is a character from the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, and is played by Anne Hathaway. The film follows Andy as she moves to New York to pursue a career in the fashion industry and learns what it takes to fit in with her demanding boss, Miranda.

To dress like Andy in an earlier look, wear a blue cable knit sweater over a white button down shirt and pair it with a tan printed midi skirt. Another look that is more fashion-forward is a green peacoat, white gloves, gold flats, black oversized sunglasses, and a fur scarf/collar piece that has an animal print.

maurecia from wayside

Maurecia from Wayside

Maurecia (voiced by Denise Oliver) is a character from the animated movie and TV series Wayside.  She is a student in Mrs. Jewls‘ class, is friends with Myron and Dana, and has a huge crush on Todd.  Maurecia is a bit of a tomboy and prefers rollerblading as her primary mode of transportation.  Maurecia has long indigo hair she often wears in a ponytail beneath her pink helmet with purple flames.  Her clothing consists of a fuchsia shirt and a blue pleated skirt.  A pair of pink high-top sneakers will do the trick if you aren’t ready to commit to blading everywhere.  Add purple flame decals to your helmet to put the finishing touches on your costume.

Ada from Lamb

Ada is a character from the A24 film called Lamb. Lamb is a fantasy/horror film that takes place in rural Iceland. A couple there discovers an unnatural newborn lamb in their sheep barn that is a human and sheep hybrid, and decide to take in the lamb as their own.

This character would make for a hilarious and clever costume for movie fans, especially those who enjoy horror and A24. For the past few years we have seen A24 themed costume parties pop up in viral videos around Halloween every year, especially when people get super creative, so this would be a great one for that. To dress like Ada, wear a lamb/sheep mask or hat with ears, a wildflower crown, a navy raincoat and blue cable-knit sweater to create this recognizable look from the film.
