Carbon Costume

Priya Mangal is a main character in the Pixar movie Turning Red.  Priya is the most mellow of her group of friends, which includes Mei Lee, Abby Park, and Miriam Mendelsohn.  Priya is a big fan of the macabre, first introduced reading a vampire romance novel.  Priya has round glasses and a nose piercing and is depicted in a yellow striped shirt and brown pants.

Miriam Mendelsohn (voiced by Ava Morse) is one of Mei Lee’s best friends in the film Turning Red.  Miriam is a caring and loyal friend with a laidback attitude.  Along with Abby Park and Priya Mangal, Miriam helps Mei navigate her newly upturned life after she begins transforming into a red panda.  Miriam is a bit of a tomboy and wears clothes that would make any skater feel comfortable. She dons shades of green in nearly every aspect of her clothing, from her beanie to her flannel and accessories.

Joy Wang (played by Stephanie Hsu) is the daughter of Evelyn and Waymond in the A24 film Everything Everywhere All at Once.  Joy has a fairly strained relationship with her mother Evelyn; the two often butt heads over a variety of things, including Joy’s desire to introduce her girlfriend to her grandfather.  As originally introduced, Joy favors baggy clothes and has a penchant for comfortable flannel shirts.  Her costuming gets pretty wild, though, when she becomes Jobu Tupaki, an interdimensional villain Evelyn must stop from destroying every universe that exists.  As Jobu, Joy wears a multitude of colorful and unique ensembles.  It might not be possible to completely recreate any one of them in full, so don’t be afraid to go a little wild and interpret one of her looks to make your own.

Gregory Montague (Zak Orth) is a minor character in the 1996 Romeo and Juliet, directed by Baz Luhrmann. He is Romeo’s cousin, and a close friend of Sampson. As with the rest of the characters in this modernized retelling of Shakespeare, Gregory dresses in casual, beachy clothes with bright colors.

Greg Heffley is the protagonist and narrator of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. He is a middle school student who isn’t really all that likable. Like any pre-teen, he doesn’t think before he acts. While he has some moments of caring and kindness, his paranoia often gets the better of him. His brothers are Rodrick and Manny, and his best friend is Rowley Jefferson. Johnny Thunder is the main protagonist of LEGO Adventurers. Known also as Sam Grant or Joe Freeman, he is an Australian adventurer and passionate archeologist who travels with Dr. Kilroy and Pippin Reed. The three go around discovering treasures while outwitting bad guys. After finding these treasures, Johnny donates them to museums. His archenemy is Sam Sinister, steals instead. Johnny appears in multiple LEGO video games, Studios sets, and even the LEGO movie. This is his outfit in his appearances in the Egypt, Jungle, and Dino Island themes.

Waymond Wang (played by Ke Hyu Quan) is the husband of Evelyn and father of Joy in the A24 film Everything Everywhere All at Once.  Waymond (or, at least, a version of him) is the person who first alerts Evelyn to the existence of multiple universes and enlists her to help put a stop to Jobu Tupaki, the great evil threatening them all.  Waymond wears glasses when he is from the same universe as Evelyn, but takes them off when his other self jumps into his consciousness.  He wears a green striped shirt and cargo pants and has a fanny pack that he uses as a devasting weapon.

Wayne (played by Martin Henderson) is the producer behind The Farmer’s Daughters, the porn flick at the heart of Ti West’s Texas-based horror movie X.  Wayne is a standard southern cowboy, with long curly hair, a twang, and a white cowboy hat.  He is the older boyfriend of Maxine, who he left his previous wife for.  Wayne wears a pretty generic outfit with dark jeans and a white hat, but his costume also includes a gold watch, which speaks to his larger aspirations.  During the film, he also shows that he wears a pair of extremely revealing skivvies under his jeans, so if you’re going for authenticity, you may want to invest in a set of men’s white bikini underwear.
