Death from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Death (voiced by Wagner Moura) is the main antagonist of the Dreamworks feature film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.  Also known as the Wolf, Death is intent on killing Puss as punishment for wasting so many of his nine lives.  Death appears as a white wolf in a black cloak with a sickle in each hand.  To recreate his appearance from the film, you can choose either an easier-to-wear half-mask or a bulkier full-headed mask that looks closer to the original.  Pair your mask with furry gloves and slippers, and a black bodysuit as your base.  Then, throw a hooded cloak over top.  Don’t forget you’ll want two sickles to complete the look.

He has pale grey hair, matching eyelashes/eyebrows, golden snake-like eyes, and scaled skin. Snake carries around several of his own snakes because he can speak with them coherently, so he’s never usually seen without one. His outfit is very monochromatic, with the main highlights of his shirt being stand-out thick white stripes, while the rest is black detailed, with black pants, and thigh high lace up black boots.

You’ll want to shred a graphic print top with a skull on it to be as itty bitty as possible, as well as cut one leg off a pair of leggings while tearing holes in the side you do where.  Then, you can add the red glove and epaulets to your left arm before adorning your shoulder armor.  A studded gladiator skirt, red sash, and thigh-high boots will help pull the look together, and if you’re looking to add some studs to the boots or other parts of your costume, a rivet set can help you customize your pieces.

chani kynes from dune

Chani Kynes from Dune

Chani Kynes (played by Zendaya) is a Fremen from the planet of Arrakis in the sci-fi movie Dune.  Chani’s people have lost their lands to colonizers in search of spice melenge, and she appears in visions had by Paul Atreides long before they meet.  Chani’s primary attire consists of a stillsuit, designed to help a person survive the difficult climate of Arrakis by recycling sweat and tears into drinking water.  You can make your own stillsuit using padded tactical pants and gloves, as well as a motorcycle or paintball jacket.  Your scarf can help strategically cover the parts of the jacket that don’t match the original as well.  In Paul’s visions, Chani often wears a long white robe or dress.  One of the Fremen’s defining features are their bright blue eyes, a side effect of long-term exposure to spice.  If you plan to wear blue contacts as part of your costume, it’s best to have yourself fitted by an eye doctor to make sure you have the right size and they don’t cause any damage.
