Moira O’Hara from American Horror Story
Moira O’Hara is a character in American Horror Story. She appears in the first season, Murder House, as one of the many ghosts doomed to live in the house forever. The cause of her death was getting shot in the eye by Constance Langdon, who caught her husband making advances on her. To women, she appears as her “true self” — a pleasant elderly lady with a gray left eye. To men, she appears as a young seductress. In her words, this is because women see things for as they are whereas men see only what they desire. She befriends Vivian and tries to help during her pregnancy, but she preys on Ben’s adulterous desires. Frances Conroy plays her older self, and Alexandra Breckenridge plays her younger self as seen in this costume guide.
Scorpio
Scorpio (October 23rd to November 21st) is the fixed water sign of the zodiac and 8th on the zodiac wheel. Scorpios are the most calculating of any water sign. Symbolized by the scorpion they are known have a mysterious and somewhat dangerous quality. They do not show their plans to others or talk much about themselves. Recluse Scorpios are ruled by the planet Pluto. Scorpios tend to have an outer shell that fronts as thorny to many but are quite sensitive and soft characters once they are willing to open up. This costume is mostly black monochromatic with silver and brown details. A fitting look for any Scorpio on Halloween night.
Kevin Tran from Supernatural
On the CW show Supernatural, Kevin Tran (played by Osric Chau) is originally introduced as an extremely intelligent high school student who is dedicated to maintaining straight As. However, he is soon transformed into a prophet of God, and helps Sam and Dean by translating tablets related to the Leviathans, Demons, and Angels. Kevin is eventually killed and now roams the Earth as a ghost rather than return to Hell. Finding a Supernatural-style tablet can be difficult and expensive, but you could DIY your own stand-in with a slate charcuterie board or tile and a fine tip chalk marker.
Tae Kwon Doug from Disjointed
Tae Kwon Doug – also known as Douglas and played by Michael Trucco from Hush and Battlestar Galactica – is the rather inept antagonist on Disjointed. Though he starts the show firmly anti-drug (and woefully misinformed) he slowly comes around to the staff of the dispensary next to his dojang. He takes a special liking to Pete who he ends up treating as a sort of adopted son.
To cosplay as Doug you’ll want to get a dobok – the Korean term for a gi. You’ll also need a black belt and a headband as well as a few patches. It’s hard to have as many as Doug does, however, since he adds a new patch with each episode. Finish off the look with some camo camping crocs and you’re ready to take out the nearest BioWave.
