In Futurama, Scruff (voiced by David Herman) works as a janitor for Planet Express, if you can call it work. He’s generally apathetic about his job and spends most of his time in the pages of porn magazines.

In The I.T. Crowd, Maurice Moss (Richard Ayoade) works in the IT department of Reynholm Industries. He’s highly intelligent, but struggles to communicate with anything besides a computer keyboard.

In Demolition Man, Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) is a crime lord who’s been cryogenically frozen for a 22 year sentence in CryoPrison. After being revived for his parole hearing, he escapes to find a utopian society where even profanity is outlawed — perfect for wreaking havoc.

In The Matrix, Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) is a crew member of the Nebuchadnezzar. She is Neo’s love interest, and is many times even more bad-ass than he is.

In Justified, Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) is a U.S. Marshal that enforces the law in his Appalachian hometown. Though set in modern times, his tough lawman persona is reminiscent of 1870’s Deadwood.

In Futurama, Amy Wong (voiced by Lauren Tom) is the ditzy, spoiled daughter of wealthy ranchers. She works as an intern at Planet Express, where most of her value comes from having the same blood type as Professor Farnsworth.

In Hey Arnold!, Helga Geraldine Pataki is a 4th grader who can be bossy and a bit of a tomboy. She’s secretly in love with Arnold, but shows it by teasing him as little children do.

In Blade Runner, Rick Deckard is a seasoned police officer who specializes in “retiring” replicants. He’s called in for one last job when a group of replicants escapes a space colony and goes into hiding in Los Angeles. He begins his investigation at Tyrell Corporation where he meets Rachael.

In Borderlands, Psychos are bandits who’ve gone insane due to their obsession with the Vault. Fortunately they’re easy to spot with their white masks, bare chests, and bright orange pants.

In easy A, Olive Penderghast’s (Emma Stone) reputation is ruined after a rumor spreads about her. Instead of hiding in shame, she embraces her new image as the school tramp by wearing lingerie and accessorizing with a scarlet letter “A”.
