Josefina Montes from Santiago of the Seas
Josefina Montes (voiced by Leila Colom) is the mother of the titular character from the Nick Jr. cartoon series Santiago of the Seas. Like her son, Josefina is brave and sometimes accompanies him on his adventures. She has brown curly hair that she wears up, tied with a yellow hair scarf. Her costume consists of a blue jacket, a white blouse, brown boots, and a mint green skirt, layered over a white one. Her accessories include a red sash, a brown belt, a turquoise pendant necklace, and gold hoop earrings.
Icona Shard from Just Dance
Icona Shard is a dancer in Just Dance who dances to “Telephone” by Lady Gaga and Beyonce. In Beyonce’s verse, she holds a red phone over her ear before throwing it away in frustration. There are some differences between both versions, such as her pink eyebrows and red lipstick. Trim the front of the wig with shears to replicate the blunt bangs. Sally Albright is from the 1989 movie When Harry Met Sally and is played by Meg Ryan. When Harry Met Sally is a rom-com set in New York about Harry Burns and Sally Albright, who keep running into each other throughout their lives until they meet again in a bookshop. They attempt to stay platonic friends and eventually end up together.
Sally is one of the two protagonists in the story. She is someone who knows what she wants and makes that clear when speaking to Harry. Veralidaine Sarrasri, known more commonly as Daine or the Wildmage, is the main character of Tamora Pierce’s fantasy series The Immortals. Daine has powerful wild magic and can both exert her will over animals and communicate with them. She has brown curly hair. For costume inspiration, look to some of the book covers of Pierce’s novels. Sandie from Last Night in Soho
Sandie is a character from the film Last Night in Soho, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. The story follows the protagonist Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer that begins university in London to study it, and learns that she is able to enter the 1960s. At night she transforms into an aspiring singer named Sandie from the 60s. As Sandie searches for her big break, she gets into trouble and Eloise follows that journey with her.
Sandie is first seen in a float bright bring dress with the perfect shape for the period. We later see outfits like her white coat, black dress, and red dress that Eloise is inspired by and begins incorporating it into her own style and projects. Tease your hair to create a classic bump on the top to complete the look.

Megurine Luka, also known by her codename of CV03, is a Japanese VOCALOID. Since 2004, VOCALOID has combined voice synthesizing and software programming to produce music, albums, and even concerts. Voicebanks get paired with anime style avatars, such as Megurine Luka. Her voice is provided by Yu Asakawa, a Japanese voice actress and singer. The Will of the Abyss (Alyss) from Pandora Hearts
The Will of the Abyss (voiced in Japanese by Ayako Kawasumi) is one of the key plot characters in the anime/manga Pandora Hearts.
She has control over the Abyss, and is in charge of all the Chains, which has lead to her powers being in high demand by the government organization, Pandora.
Much like Alice, she has very long hair with fluffed out side-pieces and thin braids, but hers is white instead, and her eyes are a pale lavender. She wears a short skirted, intricately detailed white dress with a big outer-belled half skirt, decorated with blue roses and black ribbons. She wears a matching black ribbon with the roses around her neck, and a thicker white ribbon tied around her leg.
Marine Mauri from Les Sisters
Marine Mauri (voiced by Kelly Marot) is one half of the titular siblings in the French cartoon Les Sisters. Though Marine often needles her older sister Wendy, she also looks up to her, and the two share a lot of love for each other. Unlike her sister, Marine has honey blonde hair and wears mostly green. Her outfit includes a green long-sleeved shirt with a heart design, dark green pants, and light green sneakers. You can recreate her look by purchasing a similar shirt, even if it isn’t an exact match, or opt to use an iron-on decal to spruce up a plain green shirt instead.

Mermaid Barbie is a character in the hit 2023 movie Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig. She’s one of the many Barbies in Barbie Land, with blue, purple, and pink variants – making this the perfect trio cosplay. She’s portrayed by pop artist Dua Lipa – who sings the movie’s bespoke discopop song “Dance the Night Away”. The tail isn’t entirely accurate – we never see Mermaid Barbie’s full tail in the movie – but the color palette is so Barbie!
Chelsea Van Der Zee from Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken
Chelsea Van Der Zee (voiced by Annie Murphy) is the primary antagonist of the Dreamworks animated film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. Chelsea is a popular girl at Ruby‘s school and is also a mermaid, though she blends in very well with humans. To recreate her school-going look from the film, you’ll need a long red wig, blue crop top, and sparkling pants. Accessorize with a blue choker necklace, green beaded hoop earrings, and white sneakers. Lastly, add a dab of light blue fingernail polish.
