Bev Keane from Midnight Mass
Beverly Keane (played by Samantha Sloyan) is an extremely devout parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in the Netflix mini series Midnight Mass. Bev is an influential figure in the small community of Crockett Island, and her judgmental nature shines through as she bullies her way over Sheriff Omar Hassan and Erin Greene in meetings and supports Father Paul in his crusade to convert her neighbors back to faith. Bev sports long auburn hair always pulled back into a braid and is never without her silver crucifix necklace. She wears several conservative outfits throughout the course of the series, including a mid-calf floral dress with a beige cardigan during the Crock Pot Luck. Her most iconic outfit, though, might be the simple white cassock she wears when performing her duties in church, though the garment receives some suspicious red stains by the finale.
Anthony McCoy from Candyman
Anthony McCoy (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is the main protagonist of the Nia DaCosta directed Candyman film. Set twenty years after the original, the new Candyman revolves around Anthony, a visual artist, and his art gallery director girlfriend Brianna Cartwright. Anthony, intrigued by the legend of the Candyman, creates a mirror-themed art exhibit, though it doesn’t do as well as he’d like. What follows is a horrific transformation decades in the making. Anthony wears a number of outfits throughout the movie, though some of the most memorable include his paint-stained coveralls after he creates a series of portraits and his burgundy beanie.
Kirk from The Forever Purge
Kirk (portrayed by Will Brittain) is a minor antagonist in the horror film The Forever Purge. Kirk is a cowboy who works on Caleb Tucker’s ranch. Kirk’s costume is primarily black. He wears a black cowboy hat, shirt, and pants, with some small pops of color from the makeup around his eyes, his holster, and the plethora of blood spattered over his person.
Joe Owens from The Purge
It’s never good when one person is judge and jury. Even worse when they’re the executioner too. But Joe Owens (played by Lee Tergesen) doesn’t see it that way. Not during The Purge.
The Purge isn’t real but Joe Owens still makes for a fearsome cosplay. Black combat boots, black tactical pants, and a black canvas jacket under a black paintball vest are great pieces that can easily transition into other costumes. Even the prop shotgun can be used again and again. His mask, however, is a DIY project all itself. There aren’t any listed pre-made but one can be fashioned using EVA foam.
Millie Kessler from Freaky
Millie Kessler (played by Kathryn Newton) is the meek teenage girl whose personality is swapped with the Blissfield Butcher‘s after being stabbed with an ancient dagger in the horror comedy film Freaky. Millie begins the film as a quiet and focused high school student, only to be turned into a rampaging slasher when the personality of her town’s local folk legend and serial killer takes over her body. Not only does Millie’s personality get a makeover, but her wardrobe too, swapping out frumpy dresses and oversized sweaters for a sexy retro look that includes a red moto jacket.
The Blissfield Butcher from Freaky
The Blissfield Butcher (played by Vince Vaughn) is the terrifying serial killer behind the supernatural body swap film Freaky. When Barney Garris attempts to murder high school student Millie Kessler with an ancient dagger known as La Dola, he inadvertently trades their personalities and they wake up in one another’s bodies. The Blissfield Butcher’s costuming is simple, but it can be hard to track down a similar mask, since no official merch has been released for the film, yet. You can use a generic-looking oval mask and paint it if you’re feeling especially crafty.
Anita “Needy” Lesnicki
Anita “Needy” Lesnicki (Amanda Seyfried) is a main character in Jennifer’s Body. She is the childhood friend of Jennifer Check, but unlike her, she is shy and insecure, hence the fitting nickname. After the rock concert, Needy searches for Jennifer, who disappeared without a trace. When Jennifer shows up at her front door covered in blood, she knows something is wrong. Research and suspicion lead Needy to the conclusion that her best friend has become a man-eating succubus.
Jennifer Check
Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) is the main character of Jennifer’s Body. She is a flag girl on the cheerleading squad in high school. When she attends a rock concert with her best friend Needy Lesnicki, she gets kidnapped and sacrificed by the band in a Satanic ritual. Since Jennifer is not a virgin, a demonic succubus possesses her instead. Now she must sustain her life by seducing boys and feeding on their flesh. However, Jennifer never hurts Needy, which indicates she may feel protective and romantically attracted towards her.
Miles Wingrave from The Haunting of Bly Manor
Miles Wingrave (played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) is one of the children under the care of Dani Clayton in the Netflix horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Miles and his sister Flora are orphans living under the care of their uncle, who spends as little time at their creepy country home as possible, relying instead on Dani and Mrs. Grose to care for the children in his absence. Miles’ style includes a penchant for cozy-looking sweaters, which makes for a comfortable costume if you choose to emulate his wealthy country chic aesthetic.
Flora Wingrave from The Haunting of Bly Manor
Flora Wingrave (played by Amelie Smith) is the precious younger sister of Miles in the Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Flora quickly befriends Dani Clayton when she arrives at Bly as the new governess. She is a sweet child, though she can at times be rather off-putting and even a bit frightening. Flora’s costumes often revolve around a sweet purple and pink palette, making for a “perfectly splendid” range of options to choose from when recreating her look.
