Korean Olympic Sharpshooter
In the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, Korean sharpshooter Kim Ye-ji went viral for her futuristic steampunk/cyberpunk shooting glasses and ice-cold demeanor — in sharp contrast to the cuddly Turkish sharpshooter. But she wasn’t all business — she held her daughter’s small elephant plush in her left hand as she took home a silver medal for South Korean in the 10-meter air pistol women’s event.
Turkish Olympic Sharpshooter
In the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, Turkish sharpshooter Yusuf Dikeç went viral for his no frills setup and relaxed posture reminiscent of the average dad — or perhaps a hitman in disguise. No earplugs, no high-tech goggles, just a hand in his pocket was enough to win him a silver medal at the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event. To go bare minimum on your costume, as Yusuf himself probably would do, all you need are black glasses, a white Turkiye shirt, and an air pistol. Add the salt-and-pepper wig or a green Nacar dive watch for the extra touch.
Raygun from the Paris 2024 Olympics
With breakdancing making its debut as an event at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games, b-girl Raygun stole the show. The university lecturer, real name Rachael Gunn, actually holds a PhD that focused on breakdancing culture. Her original dance moves, like kangaroo hopping and floor writhing, quickly went viral on the internet. Unfortunately the judges saw differently, and Raygun was unable to score a single round.
