Zeus from Thor: Love and Thunder

Zeus (Russell Crowe) is a minor character in Thor: Love and Thunder. He is the Greek god of the skies, king of Olympus, and leader of the gods. When Thor confronts him about the god butcher, Zeus disregards the threat. The group ends up impaling him with his Thunderbolt, which Valkyrie steals before making their escape. Later on, they use the power of the Thunderbolt to help defeat Gorr. An iconic scene from the trailer involves Zeus magically removing Thor’s disguise that leaves him nude in front of everyone and makes the Grecian girls swoon. The post credit scene features Zeus recuperating from his injuries and calling upon a familial hero to take down the Norse god of thunder.

Mighty Thor (Jane Foster)

Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is a character in the Thor movies who becomes Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. After breaking up with Thor, Jane tries to find a cure for her late-stage cancer. However, Thor told Mjolnir to look after Jane, so she is revitalized as the superhero Mighty Thor. When she reunites with the god of thunder, Thor is understandably shocked (and even quite jealous at the expense of Stormbreaker). Jane fights alongside Thor, Valkyrie, and Korg to stop the villain Gorr, who wishes to eradicate all the gods. With her intelligence combined with this newfound power, Jane Foster shows girls can be strong heroes too.

Skurge from Thor Ragnarok

Skurge from Thor: Ragnarok

Skurge is a character you both love to hate and hate to love. In Thor: Ragnarok, he quickly abandons his people to serve Hela on her return to Asgard. But in the end he throws himself to battle against her, trying to right the wrongs of his previous choices. Of course it might just be Karl Urban’s portrayal that gives Skurge the humorous charm he seems to have. But you be the judge of that!

Skurge’s costume is exclusively comprised of a complex set of armor. The one listed above is from another movie but looks very similar. If you add in a bald cap, face paint to recreate his tattoos, a fake goatee, and a sword, you’re ready to defend Asgard!

Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok

Valkyrie is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Tessa Thompson, she first appears in Thor: Ragnarok. Her actual name is Brunnhilde, though she goes by Valkyrie because she was part of a group of Asgardian warriors called the Valkyries. Before selling Thor to the Grandmaster, she was a bounty hunter on the planet Skaar named Scrapper 142. She befriends Thor and Bruce Banner, ultimately joining the Revengers to defeat Hela. In Avengers: Endgame, Valkyrie survived the snap and helped relocate the Asgardians. Later on she led the Asgardians in the battle against Thanos. Thor then appointed her as the new leader and king of Asgard. To achieve her look from Thor: Ragnarok, style your hair into a half updo top knot. With the NYX White Eyeliner, draw the lines around her eyes, and use this close up picture for reference.

Frigga from the MCU

Frigga

Frigga (played by Rene Russo) is the Queen of Asgard, wife of Odin, and mother to both Thor and Loki in the MCU. Though she largely keeps her peace she knows how to stand her ground. And she is not someone you want to make an enemy of. She is a fierce protector and even fiercer fighter, gifts she passed on to her sons.

Cosplaying as Frigga requires a little bit of DIY. Shoulder and wrist protection is hard to find in gold, as Frigga’s are. So you will have to buy them in leather and paint them with the leather paint pictured above.

Once dry these pieces are layers over a long gown. A gold corset takes the place of Frigga’s chest armor in this look because formed armor like hers always costs quite a bit. There are options available on Etsy but they cost several hundred dollars. This corset will get close to the look at a much more affordable price. Similarly the pictured boots might seem familiar to Disney fans but they work just as well for a Queen of Asgard s a princess of Arendelle if you want something with a heel low enough to fight in that won’t break the bank.

Finally add in a long curly blonde wig, a gold crown, and two short swords and you’re ready to defend Asgard. And, more importantly, your family just like Frigga!

Loki

Loki

Loki is a recurring antagonist from the Marvel movies and comic books. His persona was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, but he originates from Norse mythology as the god of trickery and mischief. He is the adoptive son of Odin and brother of Thor. In contrast to his brother’s outgoing personality, Loki is reserved, yet he is also sly and deceitful. He usurps power for his personal gain to rule over Earth, driven by spite and jealousy of his father’s favoritism for Thor. He made his cinematic debut in Thor (2011), where he was portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.

Drunk Thor from Avengers: Endgame

Drunk Thor in Avengers: Endgame

In Avengers: Endgame, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is now an overweight alcoholic who leaves in seclusion in New Asgard, Norway. Depressed after the Avengers’ defeat at the hand of Thanos, who has wiped out half of civilization, he spends his days drinking beer and playing Fortnite. The Norse god of Thunder, now drunk and overweight, bears a striking resemblance to The Dude from Big Lebowski, both in appearance and lifestyle.

Marvel's Hela

Hela from Thor: Ragnarok

Not to be confused for the Norse Hel, Marvel’s Hela is a woman all her own. Played by Cate Blanchett she is the goddess of death, Odin’s former executioner and the oldest child he kept secret from both Thor and Loki. His death released her from her exile and triggered Ragnarok, the destruction of Asgard. Her arrival costs Thor his hammer, the Asgardians their home, and Hela her own life. Despite her end, she is still considered one of Marvel’s most dynamic villains.

The focal point of Hela’s look is the bodysuit and cape. It’s iconic and hard to recreate, which makes it lucky that there is a premade version on Amazon. Black boots and a black wig finish the core of the costume. Black nail polish, black eye shadow, and her iconic swords are the final touches you’ll need before you’re ready to rock a world of your own.

April 2021 Update: A big thank you to the commenters for their discussion that led to a costume update.

Thor

In the Marvel comics, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is the Norse god of thunder and a founding member of the Avengers. As if being a god wasn’t enough, he has an enchanted hammer called Mjolnir that allows him to fly and control the weather.
