Troy and Abed in the Morning
In the comedy series Community, best friends Troy Barnes (Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino) and Abed Nadir (Daniel Pudi) host a talk show called “Troy and Abed in the Morning!” Usually filmed inside Group Study Room F, the show is in a typical morning talk show format. But of course Troy and Abed are poking fun at the genre. Their bromance is clear through their cheery sarcasm in this recurring segment adored by the fans of Community,

Kuiil from The Mandalorian
“I have spoken.” Kuiil is a character in The Mandalorian, the wildly popular Star Wars TV series on Disney+. He is an Ugnaught moisture farmer and former indentured servant of the Galactic Empire. When he meets the Mandalorian, he leaves his life of solitude and assists him in protecting the Child. Despite his gruff personality, Kuiil is wise, patient, and kind. His relationship with the bounty hunder droid IG-11 plays into the overarching parenting theme. Using his advanced mechanical skills, he was able to reprogram the droid to be benevolent. Kuiil is a favorite among fans, and (spoiler) his death was a particular somber moment in the show. Nick Nolte did the voice while Misty Rosas performed wearing a latex mask controlled by animatronic puppetry. We included a similar mask if you really want to commit to the look.
Shadow from Bear in the Big Blue House
Shadow (voiced by Tara Mooney) is a recurring character on the Disney Channel show Bear in the Big Blue House. Just as her name suggests, Shadow is a shadow in the shape of a young girl. Her role on the series consists primarily of telling stories, sometimes in the form of a song, with an Irish accent. To dress as shadow, you will want to start with a black bodysuit and then add black clothing overtop to imitate her easily recognizable silhouette.
Loonette the Clown from The Big Comfy Couch
Loonette (Alyson Court) is the lead character in The Big Comfy Couch, a Canadian children’s show from the 90s. Loonette is a young clown who lives with her dolly named Molly. Every episode begins with Loonette waking up on the eponymous couch. She reads stories to Molly, performs a Clock Rug Stretch, and completes a Ten Second Tidy. Her family and friends, such as Granny Garbanzo and Major Bedhead, are also clowns. Put your hair into pigtails using the red scrunchies, and cut a hole on either side of the purple hat, then slide your hair through. You can also use a wig with detachable pigtail clips as suggested in this guide. While there isn’t an existing replica of her sweater, you can get away with a plain white long sleeve top. For added detail, you can draw the suns and moons with yellow and red marker.
Leah from Shimmer and Shine

Ernie from Sesame Street
Ernie is Bert’s best friend and roommate at 123 Sesame Street. Compared to the world-weary Bert, Ernie is naïve, laughs easily, and often finds himself getting into trouble. Ernie is fond of bubble baths with his Rubber Duckie, as well as learning to play the saxophone.
Bert from Sesame Street
Bert is Ernie’s best friend and roommate on Sesame Street. The pair share the basement apartment at 123 Sesame Street. In contrast to the practical-joking, extroverted Ernie, Bert is serious, studious, and tries to make sense of his friend’s actions. His own passions include reading Boring Stories, collecting paper clips and bottle caps (especially the rare Figgy Fizz), consuming oatmeal, and studying pigeons. While Ernie’s best companion outside of Bert is Rubber Duckie, Bert has his pet pigeon, Bernice. True to his detail-oriented, organized mind, Bert is president of the National Association of W Lovers. Unfortunately for Bert, his nose has come off of his face on a number of occasions.
Jay Garrick from The Flash
Far out there in the multiverse exists Jay Garrick, a different incarnation of The Flash. On The CW’s The Flash show, John Wesley Shipp, an original Flash actor from the 1990s show, appears as both Barry Allen’s father and, later, the real Jay Garrick of his native timeline. (There was some confusion, initially, about who Jay Garrick really was. Long story.) Aside from the winged helmet, Jay Garrick’s Flash costume is extremely easy to source and assemble. A simple red crewneck shirt can be enhanced with the Flash’s signature lightning bolt printed over iron-on transfer paper.
