Chase Devineaux from Carmen Sandiego
Chase Devineaux (voiced by Rafael Petardi) is one of the former agents of Interpol, turned A.C.M.E., from the Netflix adaptation of Carmen Sandiego.
He is very much the blundering detective type character, but is ready and willing to get the job done once he figures out what side he’s working for.
Chase has short, styled up brown hair, brown eyes, and a dark stubbled face. He wears a white button up shirt, a striped tie, a brown open-front jacket over top, dark slacks, a black belt, and black loafers.
Aya Tademaru from Kemono Jihen
Aya (voiced in Japanese by Kaede Hondo and in English by Corina Boettger) is one of the secondary characters in the anime/manga Kemono Jihen.
Revealed in Shiki’s backstory, Aya has complicated ties between the kemono and human world, as she was born to be used as a tool, instead of raised as a proper child. Since reconciling with her brother and mom, Aya has stepped extremely outside of the shell that she used to be and is very loudly her own person now.
She has bubblegum pink hair, tied up in a high ponytail, and purple eyes. Her chosen outfit consists of a burgundy choker collar, a matching tube top, light blue short-shorts with spider webbing at the bottom, an over-sized jacket that matches her hair, with a gold spiderweb on it alluding to her powers, and the look is finished off with black socks and red high-top sneakers.
Billy Joe Cobra from Dude, That’s My Ghost!
Billy Joe Cobra (voiced by Darren “Beardyman” Foreman) is one of the two main protagonists in the Disney cartoon series, Dude, That’s My Ghost! along with Spencer Wright.
Billy is the ghost of a (former, by technicality of death) popstar, who still holds a passion for both music and the fame scene in general, enjoying the hold he still has on parts of it.
While he had human colored hair and skin when he was alive, his color scheme upon death turned pale and blue, which left him with light blue hair, in the same style as it was when he was living. Like Spencer, he has typical cartoon black circles for his eyes.
His usual outfit is a orange button-up shirt with yellow stripes across it, a thin long red tie, a green half-jacket over top, standard blue jeans, and orange high-top shoes.
Chrollo Lucilfer’s York New Disguise from Hunter x Hunter
Chrollo (voiced in Japanese by Mamoru Miyano and in English by Robbie Daymond) is the founder and current leader of the Phantom Troupe is the anime/manga Hunter x Hunter.
The outfit I’ve chosen for this article is the disguise that he wears in the York New arc when he’s infiltrating to steal Neon Nostrade’s nen ability, though he does have several other outfits that will be featured in another article later on.
Chrollo has soft grey eyes, and while he usually wears his hair slicked back, for this outfit he wears it loose and down, with a greenish grey ribbon covering the cross tattoo he has on his forehead. He wears the bauble earrings that he usually has on for this, but the rest of it is a pretty standard suit jacket and pants over a white shirt, black tie, and black oxfords finishing off the look.
Spencer Wright from Dude, That’s My Ghost!
Spencer Wright (voiced by Rasmus Hardiker) is one of the two main protagonists in the Disney cartoon series, Dude, That’s My Ghost! along with Billy Joe Cobra.
Spencer has a huge passion for filmmaking, and a fascination with creating and watching horror movies. He is one of the few people that can see Billy, as he and his friends have an item that Billy owned when he was alive that allows them to interact with him.
He has light brown loosely spiked hair, and cartoon typical black eyes. The shirt he wears is a baseball style tee, white with red sleeves and a ghost iron-on image on the front. He has standard blue jeans, green and orange sneakers, and carries around his camcorder that he uses for his movies pretty much everywhere he goes.
Rem from Death Note: The Musical
Rem is a character that’s found in the anime/manga Death Note, and for this version the focus will be on the live action stage adaptation of the series, where she’s portrayed as a lot more human-like in appearance than her regular shinigami (death god) form. For this specific design I’ve gone with what I believe is Megumi Hamada’s portrayal of her, as there are variations of the character between each version of the musical.
Rem is the shinigami that Misa Amane has ties to, by way of her Death Note, and throughout the series came to care very deeply for her, despite the fact that Misa was human. This comes out even more strongly through the musical soundtrack, with much more love showing through how she sings about and with her.
In this particular version, Rem has pale, pearlescent skin with grey and blue highlighting tones, blue makeup, and long silver-white hair with blue strands trailed throughout it. The outfit she wears is a long, torn and draped robe/dress-like piece with a cloak over top, simple white pants underneath, and white shoes. One standout piece of this design that ties in nicely to the original shinigami form that she has is the extra-long fingernails, mimicking her long pointed fingers.
The Once-ler from The Lorax
The Once-ler (voiced by Ed Helms) is one of the key characters in the 2012 adaptation of the Lorax made by Illumination Entertainment.
Once a faceless character in the original version of the book/movie, Oncie takes place at the heart of the story this time around, and we know more about his motivations behind creating the thneed as a product.
He has short and fluffy brownish-black hair, blue eyes, and a light smattering of freckles across his face. While he does have a few outfits throughout the movie, at the start we see him in this rather monochromatic set. He wears a light grey hat, a v-collared white long sleeved shirt, a grey vest over top, two toned striped pants, pointed toed shoes, and occasionally green gardening gloves.
Santa (Aoi Kurashiki) from 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors
Santa/Aoi (voiced in Japanese by Kisho Taniyama and in English by Sean Chiplock) is one of the key characters in the first game in the Zero Escape game series, 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors.
While the rest of the characters involved in the Nonary Game in this part of the series were brought along against their will, Aoi and Akane have much greater ties to the plot than the others.
Aoi has white spiked back hair tied down with black hairbands, and greyish blue eyes. He wears a tight white tanktop, black cargo pants, and black and white boots, accessorized by a long and thin black scarf, long black fingerless gloves, and a blcak ribbon wrapped around his upper right arm.
Gilbert Nightray from Pandora Hearts
Gilbert Nightray (voiced by Kōsuke Toriumi) is part of the main trio in the anime/manga Pandora Hearts, and Oz‘s closest childhood friend.
Gil is one of the characters that goes on through life at a usual timeline pace while Oz got trapped in the Abyss, and by that happening, he ends up going by the name ‘Raven’ for a short while, as a way to hide his true identity from his best friend and former master. The name came from the Raven chain he’s contracted with, and he has the ability to seal the B-Rabbit powers that Oz can use, to lessen the strain on his body.
He has fluffy black hair, and vibrant gold eyes. His usual outfit matches his hair, with a hat, long and elaborately decorated coat, pants, and boots, all in black. The coat details are a silvery color, and the undershirt and cravat tie he wears are white.
Yūichirō Hyakuya from Owari no Seraph/Seraph of the End
Yūichirō Hyakuya (voiced in Japanese by Miyu Irino and in English by Micah Solusod) is part of the main duo of characters in the anime/manga Owari no Seraph/Seraph of the End.
After being the only child (as far as he knew) to escape from the vampires, Yu ends up growing up and joining the Moon Demon Company, under the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. When he finds out that Mika (his best friend and pretty much reason for living) is still alive, but a vampire, he makes it his main goal to save him.
Yu has fluffy, semi-spiked black hair and forest green eyes. He wears the Moon Demon Army uniform, which is black with green accents and gold buttons, and has black boots with gold and white detailing over the ends of his pants.
