Carbon Costume

Tariq is a minor recurring character in Abbott Elementary, now streaming on Hulu. Played by comedian and rapper Zack Fox, Tariq is Janine’s ex-boyfriend of ten years. He is an aspiring rapper, who gets a gig doing shows for F.A.D.E around the Philadelphia area, and later in New York to record an album. He pops back up in the series as head of the PTA (though not the usual acronym) and dating a student’s mother. This costume guide depicts his F.A.D.E performance outfit.

Alice Wu-Gulliver is a character in Agatha All Along. Played by Ali Ahn, she is a Protection witch that joins Agatha Harkness‘ coven to go down the Witches’ Road. At first, she dismisses her connection to magic, working as mall security as an ordinary individual. Though she really seeks answers about what happened to her mother, Lorna Wu, who sang a cover the Ballad of the Witches Road. It’s revealed that Lorna popularized the song to protect her daughter from a generational family curse. Alice and Teen grow close, sharing similar dispositions and fashion sense. Unfortunately, Alice meets her demise while trying to protect Agatha in one of the trials.

Kammy Kam is the host of Yo Gabba Gabbaland, the spinoff of the 2007 children’s series Yo Gabba Gabba. Portrayed by Kamryn Smith, she lives in the titular magical world and uses her magic powers to make the Toy Models – Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee, and Plex – come to life. Kammy Kam loves to sing, dance, and play with her friends. She replaces original host DJ Lance Rock. Both hosts wear glasses and orange outfits.

Sherri ‘Cherry’ Valance is a character in The Outsiders novel and Broadway musical. She is a Soc, but she’s friends with Ponyboy, a Greaser. Her boyfriend is Bob, the leader of the Socs. When Bob gets dies in a fight with Ponyboy and Johnny, she becomes closer to the Greasers. Open-minded, sensitive, and courageous, Cherry shows Ponyboy that their differences are only superficial. Emma Pittman plays Cherry in the Broadway adaptation. We managed to source the exact shoes she wears in the show! Red is the titular main protagonist in Descendants: The Rise of Red, a spin-off in Disney’s Descendants movies. Played by Kylie Cantrall, she is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, making her the Princess of Red Hearts. She meets Chloe Charming, daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming, and the unlikely pair become best friends. Together they use the Pocket Watch to travel back in time to prevent a coup led by the Queen. Smart and rebellious, Red is a troublemaker, but only due to her mother’s neglect. Her passion, courage, and care for her friends show that deep down, she really isn’t bad. This outfit is more of a style guide rather than an accurate cosplay. Think red and black with a punk edge.

Mr. Johnson is a character in Abbott Elementary, now streaming on Hulu. Played by William Stanford Davis, he’s the janitor and occasional substitute teacher at Abbott Elementary. His first name is unknown, apparently written in the stars.  Prior to his janitor role, he has had a variety of careers, including a private investigator, pipe fitter, RV salesman, rodeo employee, a tastefully nude model, and a minor league bunting coach. On career day, he reveals he’s been involved with state government and the mafia. Yet the role of janitor seems to suit him best, as he makes his own system for most things in the school. The students love Mr. Johnson – one student even dressed up as him for Halloween.

Azami Kurotami is a character in the horror manga novel by Junji Ito. She is a student and resident of Kurozu-Cho, the town cursed by spirals. She is friends with Kirie and has an obsessive crush on Shuichi. Her beauty captivates boys, as well as the scar on her forehead. Eventually the scar develops into a spiral that overtakes her face and eats her whole. Use black eyeliner to draw a spiral on your forehead or around your eye. This outfit takes inspiration from the manga, 2024 anime, and character figurines.
