Black Lighting (Cress Williams) is the main character in the CW's Black Lighting. His real name is Jefferson Pierce. Unknown to others, he used to be a superhero, but has since retired to become the principal of a charter school. When a local gang kidnaps his daughters, he has to suit up as Black Lightning to save them. As a result, Jefferson must return to fighting crime. He must also deal with the effects of vigilante activity on his professional and family life. Black Lightning has the ability manipulating electricity. His daughters eventually join him as Thunder and Lightning after realizing they have powers like their father.
