Cartoons

Crimson from Total Drama

Crimson (voiced by Stacey DePasse) is a brooding character from the cartoon parody show Total DramaCrimson and her boyfriend Ennui are contestants in The Ridonculous Race. Crimson is quite knowledgeable, though she has a very limited emotional range. She is committed to her boyfriend, even when he sports his de-gothed appearance.  Crimson’s style consists of dark reds and blacks, and is the perfect chance to reboot some of your old Hot Topic gear from your high school days.

Doug Dimmadome from The Fairly OddParents

Doug Dimmadome is a minor recurring character in The Fairly OddParents. He’s the owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome as well as other businesses and properties in Dimmsdale. His ten gallon cowboy hat comically gets larger with appearance. Sometimes he’s portrayed as an antagonist. His catchphrase, spoken with a Southern drawl, is: “I’m Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome!”

Smile from Words Bubbling Up Like Cider

Smiles wears a mask to hide her front teeth and braces. She is a popular video star that talks about seeking fitness. One day, an incident sparks her friendship with a quiet boy named Cherry. Smile connects with Cherry the way she can’t with others in Words Bubbling Up Like Cider (Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru).

Jimmy from Ed, Edd, n Eddy

Jimmy from Ed, Edd, n Eddy

Jimmy (voiced by Keenan Christensen) is the neighborhood “soft” kid. He’s prone to tears, acts more delicate than he is, and inspires either protective instincts or the urge to tease. It all depends on who he’s talking to. Of course that’s only part of Jimmy’s personality. Under the surface is a devious and clever mind that you don’t want to get on the bad side of!

Cosplaying as Jimmy requires a little bit of DIY. For his hair you’ll either have to style your own hair using some serious pomade or you’ll want to use a blonde wig styled with something like an overdone pompadour in the front. Some heavy-gauge wire, a glue gun, and a plastic headband will recreate Jimmy’s iconic headgear. And after that all you need is a blue long sleeve shirt, cargo pants. and black shoes. After that it’s all about attitude and you’ve got the perfect Jimmy cosplay!

Kugaha from Noragami

Kugaha from Noragami

Kugaha was one of Bishamon’s many shinki (soul-weapons), and used his presence in the immense crowd that is her collection to take her down from the inside! Not even Bishamon’s Blessed Shinki, Kazuma, caught on until it was almost too late. Kugaha’s function in Bisha’s “family” of lost souls was that of doctor/healer; he had an arsenal of medicines and poisons to keep his mistress under his control.

Kugaha’s costume is surprisingly easy to assemble using very simple garments. The most complicated part, perhaps, is his headband; it can be recreated using the last three items on this list.

Luz Noceda's Grom Outfit from The Owl House

Luz Noceda’s Grom Outfit from The Owl House

The Owl House is set in a magical, fantastical world. And prom – I mean Grom – is no exception. Instead of loud music and the fanciest dresses the kids have ever worn, though, the students of the Boiling Isles have a terrible monster to contend with. And, of course, their worst nightmares. Thankfully Amity and Luz don’t have to go through it alone!

Luz (voiced by Sarah-Nicole Robles) rocks a  Grom outfit as unique as she is. Thankfully you don’t need to know magic to put together a cosplay of the look!

Start with a short, dark wig and add in some clip-on earrings. A white bow tie, white button up shirt, and black tuxedo jacket get the look started. Luz’s jacket has blue lapels and cuffs which is a hard detail to find pre-made. But some blue fabric paint will copy the look nicely.

Finish off her outfit with some blue leggings, a pink tutu, and black boots. Voila, you’re all set for your own spooky Grom night fun!

Akashi from The Tatami Galaxy

Akashi is an engineering college student, and is a rational girl. Her personality can be stand-offish at times. She occasionally shows friendliness to Protagonist, but won’t hold back on calling him an “idiot”. The only thing she is afraid of is moths. Akashi and Protagonist make the most of college in The Tatami Galaxy (Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei).

Iruma from Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun

Iruma from Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun

Iruma Suzuki (Laura Stahl / Ayumu Murase) walks a fine line between being an adorable sweetheart and the consummate doormat. He’ll do anything to help a person in want or need, if they do so much as say “please.” So when the demon Lord Sullivan asks him to become his adopted grandson (and Iruma’s extremely irresponsible parents don’t object), naturally, young Iruma couldn’t refuse! Plot twist: Sullivan is also the principal of the underworld’s local demon school, where human-eating demons with no concept of friendship will have their first “taste” of human companionship … if they can figure Iruma out!

deaththekid-souleater-character

Death the Kid

Death the Kid, or just “Kid,” is a main character in the anime Soul Eater. He is the son of Death and a top fighter at the Death Weapon Meister Academy. As a meister, his two weapons are the Demon Twin Guns, Liz and Patty Thompson. After his father dies, he inherits his position as leader and headmaster of the academy. He takes pride in his title as the new Shinigami, but he is very uptight. He is obsessed with symmetry, so you’ll need two guns and two rings, one for each finger!

velvet from hazbin hotel

Velvet from Hazbin Hotel

Velvet is an energetic demon overlord in the web cartoon Hazbin Hotel.  Velvet is part of the Three V’s along with Vox and Valentino, and she is always up on the latest trends and technology.  Velvet’s look is very much in line with the gothic lolita aesthetic and could be a fun opportunity to recycle an old Queen of Hearts costume if you happen to have one from a previous outing, while putting a new spin on the look.
