Gambit, aka Remy Lebeau, is a character in X-Men 97, which is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series. He is a mutant and former thief with the ability to charge objects with explosive kinetic energy, particularly using his bo staff and playing cards. His romantic relationship with Rogue becomes strained by Magneto's presence. In episode five, aptly titled "Remember It," Gambit sacrifices himself to destroy the Master Mold.
